Indoor TinyTent test grow: Dutch Passion Auto Forbidden Cherry

Hey guys, this is just a fun little side project of mine: I have two 30x30x60cm (1x1x2 ft.) tents that I normally use to start out new plants. Now I want to see if I can't pull off a full grow in them, using a custom built DWC setup, a custom built lamp, custom cooling, custom heating, custom SCROG setup etc.

And of course, I'll be using a version of 420autoflower's technique-mix - customized of course, what else
Why everything custom? Not because I think I "know better" or anything of the sort, just to suit my knowledge, equipment and space.

The lamp is round about 25-30W in power (have to check), the whole setup pulls 120W for both rooms combined under full load and full heating (which never happens).

The Cherries share a room with two other tents, 60x60x160 for two Dutch Passion Auto Lemon Kix, that I'll put in a separate grow journal, to keep it to one strain a journal.

My tiny little grow room fully loaded, so I can barely just still fit in myself for maintenance:

Then, the popped and used-up beans, just for fun - I put two seeds into distilled water, both popped, 100% germination rate, as usual with Dutch Passion auto seeds. I shouldn't have used the Macro lens on my phone, it's crap, without it macro pics get much better (and higher res)... oh well.

Day 6 (counting day 1 = day seed was removed from fridge and put into distilled water):

Day 8:

Starting them out at pH 5.9, EC 0.9, using all Hesi nutrients (SuperVit, Root Complex, Hydro Grow). So far they look happy and grow rather fast, but I'm still missing roots out the bottom. Maybe stuffed the bottom-hole too much (of the rockwool-cube... pervs!).

P.S.: To be clear, I'm not entirely insane - I know chances of this working are VERY slim, unless done exactly right, and of course, only if the seeds play along. I just have nothing better to do with those two tents right now, so fork it, why not

To be realistic, if this doesn't work, which is about 97% likely, I'll just move them to the Oxypots on my balcony

But if it does... I swear, Mars will come to fear my botany powers.

I think this experiment will fail, in the sense that any plant grown using the 420 method will not fit in 1 sq. ft. or essentially 1 cubic foot of space.

It's really, really fine if it doesn't work out - I'll have another free "real" tent in 3 weeks or so, and I expect in a month or so I can move them outside temporarily as well if I have to, so I'm all good with whatever happens.

The idea here is simple: legal limit in Germany is 3 plants, 50 grams. Yes, 50 grams. That's all you may have at home. I mean, my A plant (from the Lemon Kix grow) may yield that little, but the B plant will definitely yield more, most of which I'll have to immediately destroy to be in compliance with the law. That freaking sucks.

I killed fully grown weed once, with a... very drunk and high idea with a friend... trying to balance drying nets... held by a pole... under a ... god damn... full bucket of paint for my walls... I... ugggggggggh. I hated that night, when that happened. Now I have to do it on purpose.

...but what if I didn't have to? What if I could grow a full german legal amount in 1 or 2 1x1 tents? Then I would not waste any energy, or weed, or do anything illegal. That's my crazy masterplan. Yeah, it won't work, probably, but it would be real cool if it did

If my math is mathing, it shouldn't be impossible either. IF I happen to get small phenos. I downgraded from my usual 12l buckets, or 5l for the tiny rooms, to just a 3l bucket, that's also 5cm lower than the 5l one. I'll install a steel SCROG "net" hopefully 5-10 cm above the bucket, fixed, that should leave me with up to 40cm the plants can grow above the net. That's actually higher than my "big" Lemon Kix is right now, and much higher than the low one. Note how low the rockwool cubes are in there - I tried to optimize for every cm here. The rockwool cubes are also cut down 1cm in height...

Now of course, you can't get the plants anywhere near the lamps or they burn - normally. However, these lamps I threw together from garbage basically are extremely low wattage, but surprisingly bright. I've tried them last summer in the same tiny tents with Forbidden Cherry as well, they grew right up into the lamps, looking surprisingly lush and healthy, without any burns - then I moved them outside where wind and weather killed them off T_T

So this time, no moving outside (at least not planned) - by keeping them nice and short with a good SCROG, and whatever parts of the 420AF method seem to work for this grow.

So, 35-40cm height above the SCROG net are what I should have. Let's compare that to 420autoflower's Auto Daiquiri Lime @ 1.3kg: just going by the data in the Dutch Passion blog post about the subject since it has a nice summary, the plant apparently grew 58cm above the SCROG net. Now, if that includes all the largest colas as well, that means you can forget about those and their added 19cm if you get a more even canopy there (by having generally lower plants like the Cherries, or using various training techniques, or even just straight up cutting them off to make it so), and so, even in his absolute monster grow, the rest is just ~40cm above the SCROG net as well. I made a graph, because... German. You know how it is, can't help it...

If this actually works, all you doubters owe me a beer. If it doesn't I never believed it would anyway, it's stupid, no idea why you all forced me to do it.

You must do so by burning small controlled amounts at a time. Just a little here and there for safety and it must be fully destroyed so burning is best. Good plan! Germans, so efficient.

No but really, I'm kind of looking forward to visiting the cops with a big ass bag of weed in hand, going "please destroy for me, kthxbai" and just watching their reactions

In this case I'd rather sleep well, knowing I'm actually not "being illegal" for once. Otherwise the whole legalization was for nothing. They just need to get their act together and change the legal limit at home to 500-1000g/person, then it'd make sense and you could actually set up 3 nice plants to get something like that. Right now the limit is more like 1/3 of a plant or so, depending, which is sorta hard to grow... but I gather politics and politicians in the US of A might not always be perfect in every imaginable way either, so... gotta deal with them everywhere I'spose. It's something at least. Making the most (legal limit) of it.
