I have never grown with FFOF before but with this grow of purple mazar, diesel ryder and critical jack it's going to have to do. I grew previously with Pro-Mix BX, which I had amazing results in from seed to harvest. I know, why switch from pro mix to ff? because my shop is all out of pm for 2 months!!!!! SO, what chance am I really taking here? any tips or pointers?

FFOF can be a great soil. It's all I've used, well almost always. A couple of things to know, it is a hotter soil. Make sure you mix it with another light soil. It is a heavy soil as well, so again mix it with another light soil. I've germed in pure FFOF soil and some strains love it, while others will be stunted. Find a light soil with a lot of perlite in it and you should be ok. DO NOT feed any nutes to your ladies for 3 weeks when using FFOF because its so hot. Make sure your ph'ing your water before you feed her. Best of luck, if you need any other help just give drop a line. Best of luck!

i thought i read somewhere that germinating in a "hot" soil like FFOF is not a good idea, that the hot nutrient mix causes the plants to go male - i'm just asking, was that your experience?

If you dig a whole in your pot and fill it with plain compost or similar it will allow the sprout a little time to grow before it hits the hot soil. It's never a good idea to start seeds of any kind in a hot soil.

I germed 4 NL autofems in FFOF and so far they are doing great.

It all depends on the strain when in question mix it with another light, airy soil.
