When using GH Micro with RO water is it still necessary to supplement with cal/mag since it is 5% calcium content. I'm using 5 ml of micro per gallon of RO

Who ever said calmag was necessary in any situation? It's never been necessary. Cannabis has been growing for millions of years without ever needing a drop of calmag. Almost every bottled nutrient line already has a calcium source included.

Agreed but when humans such as my self want to take it out of its natural environment and grow it in a medium totally devoid of natural nutrients something needs to replace it, right?

I am and using RO water, GH trio with CalMag and following a stupidproof feeding chart from another website with very good results for a beginner.
Not enough experience here to tell you 100% if it's necessary but with RO water and coco,i think so.
Good luck!

You probably already are replacing it...The nutrient line you are using to feed with should have every nutrient that the plant needs. Including calcium.. The entire line could even be derived from (made out of) a calcium source. Calcium is a secondary nutrient, but for some reason, some people treat it like it's a life or death nutrient that the plant must have at all times..

I tried to go no cal mag, but I could tell the plants I was growing at the time needed. I've included some TPS cal/mag in my grows since and I haven't seen that type of deficiency since. Just make sure the cal/mag you buy is just cal/mag. Some of them will add other stuff and that can mess up the ratios of your nutrient line.

I'm in coco, fyi.
