Gnats ! are my plants too small to treat?

Mr. Piggy how much of one of those tabs should I use for 5 seedlings ? and how much water do I put it in? and also I p.h. the water first and afterwards adjust after? Sorry just wanna make sure I do this right. Thanks a lot for your help with the dunks!
I was soaking a dunk in 5 gals of water and about 1/10 crumbled off. Then I took the dunk out and it was still good enough to clear them out so honestly just a little bit for the next 10-14 days so you get the eggs in 5 days when they hatch and then just keep an eye out.

Hi Happily new member here also have noticed fungus knats in my ten day old seedlings.Just want to make sure I understand this.Did you mean you soak a dunk in non clorinated water then after it begins to break down a bit water directly into your pots?Im very new to this indoor grow stuff and am trying to learn everything i can from you guys. Thanks Fishercat13

Sand would defintly be a good barrier ,they cant get in and cant get out, thus no reproduction, just a fine layer on top of your medium.

I'm going to tell you...I have neem oil, dunks, stickies, tried drying out soil whatnot....(water has zero chlorine in it) dunks takes time..lots of time..if they are poking their heads up and you want them to go away immediately just go buy sand. Good luck finding it I went to every Walmart and fish store local to me found one place that sells sand, make sure it will not buffer your ph, it will say right on the bag. The sand hand down works the best period. Now if you have fabric pots like me good luck moving the plants around without the sides caving in and all the sand falling down the side, also fun to water cause the water takes forever to penetrate the sand it pools and then hits the fabric pot and rushes out the side. Lots of F bombs dropped when I was watering. I rotate my plants in my tent for equal light distribution I'm not man handling them all the time. I hate gnats bro I really do. I returned my second bag of soil it was unopened cause I was so frustrated. Good luck

Crush half a dunk up small as can be dilute it in water for a few days, then waterAlso take half crush it up and put it on top of your soil. Double whammy... ob the amount u crush up and use in the water and on top is directly related to the amount of plants you have. I have 6 in three gallon pots. Cheers

I would use half inch, they can crawl through small layer. I heard the sand rips the wings off.

Late bump but diatomaceous earth could be an alternative to sand on the top soil
