Rub the teeth of the zipper with candle wax, it works great as a lubricant and lasts a while! Works on all zippers.

Things are moving along, finally!!! I started planning out my new grow room and have the dimensions that I'm honestly not sure how I'm gonna manage!!! The local law states I can grow up to 12 at a time, so I figure I'll probably be right at 12.. I had thought about how I was going to make a 2nd room and light-proof it so I can grow photos side-by-side with my autos, and then I though, "why would I do that?" I still have my tent and the grow box, however, the grow box is a little too wide to fit in the proposed dimensions of the room, so sadly, it will be dismantled and moved to the other side of the basement where it will be used to germinate my veggies in the spring as I have a couple 2-bulb, 4ft T5 fixtures that I can hang in it, and it already has the fan ports and hooks.. The room will be roughly 4ft x 9ft, w/ 7ft ceilings.. The tent will occupy an area roughly 2ft x 3ft x 5.5ft in the opposite corner, where I'm going to get the vents light-proofed and air circulation right.. The only issue I feel I'm going to run into may be the heat in the summer, but for the winter, the area will stay warm enough, especially if I decide to use this 2" rigid foam insulation on the floor as a buffer, at least during the Winter..

I chopped the 1st of the Delicious Dark Purples, and the FB WCOG.. The DDP yielded close to 1oz, as the picture shows just the buds, minus the 1/4 mason jar of shake, and the 2 buds I took.. Great smell, very fruity!! Flavors haven't shown up yet, but I figure in a week or so, as it hasn't really lost its smell from when I cut it down and put it in the jars.. the WCOG looked pathetic and it was aggravating, so I chopped it.. Yielded shite like I figured it would, but after smoking a small bud from it, it's surprisingly strong, so the whole plant got chopped and is gonna cure for a couple weeks before it becomes concentrate.. The next DDP will come down this weekend and it looks a bit more bulky, while the last DDP will probably go at least another week and a half, maybe 2 before she comes down..

The GDPs that I'm growing are easing into the flower-mode and are doing their thing.. The larger of the 2 has quite a few bud sites and I'm actually itching to move my COB LED panel into the tent.. I recently purchased a couple HID ballasts and lights as I've realized that for the cost of running those lights, I can probably get a bit more yield and coverage for roughly the same wattage that I'm running, so I'm going to sell most of my blurple LED panels to a friend who just started growing, and I'll keep my COB LED and my Mars II to convert to COB LED, and will be running a 600w HPS in the larger area w/ my autos and vegged photos, and a 400w HPS in the tent w/ the photos, and will have some LED side/corner lighting to maximize yield..

The seedlings that I recently planted, (2x Nirvana Blue Mystic, 2x Fastbuds Pineapple Express, 2x Heavyweight Fruit Punch), are slowly cruising along.. Unfortunately, I will have to do a relatively "hot-swap" of everything, possibly this weekend, to ensure there are no hiccups.. Honestly, I just need to get the tent moved over to the other side of the room and then swap lights before "lights out", and then hang the new big HPS and move the autos over while I disassemble the grow-box..

Wow.. Sorry for the novel.. Pictures of the harvest.. I'll have pics of the GDP tomorrow along w/ maybe a sketch of the room.. Ventilation is my biggest challenge, so I may seek some input from folks..

So here are the pictures that I promised (strangely enough, when I said I would this time..) The smaller of the GDPs is praying hard to the lights right now, which is odd, but she was a bit dry yesterday so I think the watering was just what she needed!!! All of the seedlings grew a little last night, and I'm itching to get the rear DDP out of there so I can move some stuff around.. It's weird having the same strain finish at different times, but I guess that's just part of the game!!!

Thanks @Eyeoftheworld !!!! She smells good!!! Had to toss the buds back in a paper bag for the day because RH jumped to almost 80% in the jars, so I'm happy that I didn't overdo it, unlike the WCOG.. It didn't have much mass to it, so it's probably not gonna go above 58%. Already smells incredible though!!!! I have some vaped bud, trim, about a quarter of the Sour Diesel left and then the 19-20g of WCOG that will probably get soaked in Everclear this afternoon and made into some tasty concentrate!!!!! I picked up a new oil rig since my old one was small and was tough to hit because the nail was sorta near your face.. Maybe I'll get a picture of it this afternoon..

So after some yelling, fighting and aggravation, HPS [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] is installed in the tent over the photo GDPs I have going and even after 24hrs, I can ALREADY see a HUGE difference in how the plant is acting. It's literally grown at least an inch since yesterday and the budsites are all opening up, so I'm excited about using the bigger HPS for autos to see if I can get some better results. There's nothing wrong with the LEDs and I've had good luck with them, however I feel when it comes to larger-scale growing (more than 4 plants), I feel that HID lighting has it's perks over LEDs, especially for me in the winter in the basement when the ambient temp is only about 55-59F.. Besides, with that kind of environment, the HIDs will probably shine this winter (no pun intended).. I got my 2ft x 1.75ft vented hood for the large auto area that is going to be built in the room.. I have pretty much everything I need at this point.. I got a different e-ballast which has WiFi/wireless control, so I appreciate that, as I can tell if the bulb has burned out or if the ballast didn't fire for some reason.. That's the piece of mind I have been looking for.. Too bad it was a little on the pricey side, because I would have loved to have gotten 2 or 3 of them and just kept the other ones I have as back-ups.. I've already built one of the walls and will probably prep it before it goes in and gets punched down to the floor.. I am looking for an electrician that can re-zone my basement's electrical so that I can get 2 separate breakers for the new grow room.. Ideally, I'm going to run a redundant light in each area in the event power goes out, bulb burns out, ballast dies, etc... I'm trying to make this as bulletproof as I can, and I think with all of the extra shit I've had lying around from all of my previous experiments should help!!!! I think I finally figured out my ventilation dilemma.. I've included a hand drawing of what I am proposing.. Unfortunately, I write like a 5yr old so it may be tough to read, however I can answer any questions that you guys may have.. The only issues that I think I'm gonna run into are humidity in the summer and lack thereof in the winter, but I can run a small cool-mist humidifier in the winter at a small expense of electricity and possibly daily fill-ups.. Dehumidification tends to produce a bit of heat, and I've sort of come to the conclusion that I'm gonna have to tap into the home's HVAC lines to vent the heat from the lights and the grow into the house during the Summer.. That's fine, however, I also need to work on fan sounds, because even though it's legal here, I'm not trying to advertise it..

I'll get some pics of the GDPs and you can see from even the pictures a couple days ago, they have grown!! All I have done was given a Heisenberg tea dose and a whole lotta HPS!!

Finally, all of the seedlings are starting to take off, which is actually not a good thing in a small way.. The DDPs are still trucking along and just when I thought they were nearing completion, one of them started foxtailing... Dammit.... lol Anyway, if the thing doesn't really swell much more in the next 2-3 days, I'm chopping her this weekend because I need to start moving the seedlings under the lights ASAP however, I've got the walls built and just need to plaster them and paint them.. My brother-in-law is coming over later today to help get the walls finished and then the growbox comes down, only temporarily, because it will be used for my veggies in a few weeks because as much as I love using humidomes, I'd rather just stick a humidifier in the box and just check on them once a day to make sure nothing's having issues.. If all goes as planned, the walls will be up by this weekend.. The last of the DDPs will probably go another week, if not 2, which is crazy because they all sprouted the same time, and we're talking nearly a month difference from the first one to the last one in terms of harvest.. Got a good spectrum I guess because that means that I'm almost harvesting one a week, or about an ounce a week..

I made some EtOH extraction from the trim from the first purple, plus the entire WCOG (which was only about 19g), and the sticks, stems and vaped bud I'd had saved up.. Not sure how much it's made but I'm guessing at least a couple grams that I'll end up scraping later today.. Once these other ones come down, I'll probably toss the remaining purple bud in the next batch as I'm starting to lean towards making more concentrate than dry herb since it works so much better and more immediate.. I enjoy the dry herb for the flavors and "community" since it's usually with friends, however when I'm getting ready for work, or even at work, the concentrate is where it's!!

I'm also mildly excited about my initial experiment using the "volcano" feature on seeds to determine if they're male or female. I grabbed the 2 seeds with the most pronounced "volcano" and they both turned out female, however it got me thinking about how I feel the development of the seed is REALLY how sex is dictated, as the more developed seeds would lean towards female, and the seeds that aren't quite there would end up being hermi/male.. I keep wanting to try to larger experiment where I use the bag seeds I've collected over the last few years and seeing if that's a good indicator.. I have about 2 dozen of those that I can mark off and place in solo cups.. Once the room is built, I'll have enough room to run this experiment and will honestly put together a scientific-based research paper on it, if I can find some truth to it.. I kinda hope that's the case because I'd love to breed some of the GDP seeds I have w/ some good purple autos to try and make a GDP auto.. Big dreaming I guess!!! lol I'll probably drop the next photo seeds soon as well, and will probably go with the Delicious Jack Herer, or the Grandaddy Purple Dream which is a mix between GDP and Blue Dream, so I imagine it's probably pretty intense..

Things are moving along at a decent rate now.. The last DDP will come down possibly this weekend, although I could literally let her go another 2 weeks, possibly, because she keeps foxtailing and producing more pistils whilst still fattening up.. The Nirvana Blue Mystics have absolutely taken off (largest of the 6 new plants, by a long-shot..) One of the Heavyweight Fruit Punches is definitely heavy on the sativa strain, which is awesome, and the other is tiny in comparison, but still growing.. The only plants that have left me sorta hanging are the Fastbuds Pineapple Express.. One of them is only about 3" tall, while the other is doing better but still not as vigorous as the NBM..

Last couple pics are of the GDP photos I'm growing.. The big mama is doing great and the buds are gonna be fat!!!! The mutant one has a Tri-bud forming and if you look at the stalk, it's almost an inch wide but is only about a 1/4" thick..


Room plans are still moving forward.. Wall sections are plastered and ready to be put into place, as soon as I can move the tent and grow box out of that area.. Once that's done, I can paint the walls and route the ventilation piping.. As soon as the vent piping is done, then I will move everything over.. I need to work on a door but have a couple things that will work for the mean time..

Thanks @Chester !!!!!! You're the reason I'm growing the NBM!!!! They are growing great, so I'm happy with the choice!!!! And they already smell skunky, which is fucking awesome!!!!! About how long do yours usually run??
