How high is your pH bro? Chances are it's ok for organics...and it may have tiny lil nutrients your soil can use. Distilled is kind of dead and probably not necessary unless yours is way off.
PH is high(i use aquarium test, cheap) Distilled is right around 6.0. Tap is 7 or 8. Take a look at this sorry plant. I`ll keep her and chop when she`s ready. I will at least get something out of her. It fell apart overnight after switching to bloom nutes. I wonder if anyone had a plant as sickly looking as this. I was using Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Never again
That's one thing about true organic soil. Things don't go crazy so fast. I've grown with bottled neuts before and ended up like your example there. Like you say, went to hell fast. I've goofed up my current grow(my first with my new organic soil) but my mistakes were in my methods/practices and should have been easily avoided. To avoid all that" read till your eyes bleed" the threads here at the top of the organic section, the stickies and the active threads. True organic soil takes care of your plants, you take care of your soil. That's probably the most important thing I learned here.
My super soil and sour crack arrived today! It took 4 days! Wow.
I will germ that baby when I get home from work.
My question is can I plant the germed bean directly in that soil? I also need to research how to fix the soil up. I understand that the super soil fills up the the bottom half of container and my Roots Organic fills the top half. All I need to do is feed cal/mag and water from start to finish.
Mix that with a whole bag of soil, or half with a half bag(5gallons). And use that for the bottom half, and regular bagged soil on the top half. The bean should be fine to germ in roots organic. I'd plant it right in there.
I think I have a one gallon pot, but I get the picture. Germ or don't germ seed? I guess it don't matter. I germed in papertowel last 2 times. I think I got that figured out
