Howdy folks,

Yesterday I had a problem when my fan took a shit and died leaving me to come back from work to a sauna. I also noticed a rather pungent damp smell, followed my nose and was led to the soil in one of my plants, I can't really explain whats happened as it's the same soil mix as my other two plants and after a bit of digging I decided the others were fine. Equal mix of perlite, vermiculite and peat compost. grown under a 125w dual spectrum CFL with two newly added 30w CFL's whic unfortunately were in there when the fan died so the temps shot up for anything up to 9 hours (my work hours).
Soil in all pots has now been changed and the smell has been sorted but now I have noticed some discolouration on days new growth.

They are only fed with water and they will be continued to do so as I'm trying to see what can be achieved using this method.

Anyways, does this picture ring any bells with anyone?? I trawlled through AFN and Google and couldn't find what I was looking for so it's time to ask for help from the masters and any you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I have noticed burned tips on her since the very beginning so I know this strain doesn't agree with this soil and needs it amending somehow but thats for the next grow, this just seems to be a new problem which I can't seem to figure out.

Here she is at day 30.

Thanks again for any help.

Would heat stress, a lack in zinc or iron cause symtoms such as this??

Just gone through Herbals Self Diagnosis Thread but still had no luck figuring it out.

Peace

Looks more like a K deficiency to me, unless you've got a nutrient lockout situation. How's your soil pH?

Nice one for checking in Muddy.

Soils PH sits at 6.8 and so far hasn't changed.

A potassium deficiency would make sense as its having to use rather a lot of juice to keep up with itself atm, noticed a few lower leaves beginning to fade now.
I'm gonna carry on watering with enough to act as a flush for the rest of the week and if problems are still coming through on new growth or things start to deteriate further then I'll treat it as a lack in potassium and work out what I'm gonna use to fix it (Completely natural resources only such as woodash).

Thanks again dude, I'll drop back in a few days and let you know how things are.

Take care dude.

Peace

Figured out what happened. Being the donut I am, I added a bit more top soil just to bulk the pots up a bit thinking I was using the plain multipurpose I have been using. What I actually used was my TLO mix which had only been put together a few day previously so when I layed that on top and gave my plants a watering the mix basically started cooking in my pots. Not good.

So all the signs I see still on the plant look like N toxicity but she's recovering well now, just a bit of clawing still left to straighten out but that's about all, new growth is clean and green. Will post a few pics later today.

Luckily I seem to have changed the soil in time before the other two started cooking as well but Nordika took a bit of heat. All's well now though. Must remember to mark the bags of soil from now on lol.

Anyways, just thought I'd drop by and say everything back on track now.

:peace:
