I recently put up a Gorilla 4x4 tent, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and from the get go to now, I have disliked that tent immensely.

Zippers zippers zippers. Every damn tent I have owned, the zippers broke in one fashion or another. The Gorilla was near $400 and the zippers gave me immediate problems. In the rear where you zip to the top part of tent, those zipper threads started coming apart and thus some of the teeth came apart too. I am hoping it will not continue and cause a bad problem of spreading and then having to dump the tent.

The two tent windows in front which have velcro to open/close, both had threads coming apart. I really think quality control was passed over for this particular tent. Also in front are 5 friggin' zippers. 5 I say, 5 zippers to open and close each time I want inside the tent. That is glaringly absurd. And extremely frustrating. A couple of those zippers have threads coming apart too.

I will never buy the more expensive tents again. My Hydrohut Silver edition had an exploding zipper, so it simply isn't worth the price tag. For now on I will stick with the cheaper tents, especially those that have just the one zipper style in front.

Wow, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Gorilla Tents. I am new to this but I purchased a Gorilla Shorty 2x2.5x4"11" , with a 9" extension that I have never used because of space restriction. In my tent there are also many zippers but they are wide toothed and seem to function good, although sometimes they are contrary but I have found if you just lightly push in on the zipper just ahead of where you currently are, it will fall right into place. The frame is well built, the reflective walls are tough and the break-away panels to see inside without opening are very functional. Like I said I am new to this and have a very small space to work with but I am trying to make the most of it. Hopefully you are correct that QC was lacing on your particular tent. Maybe a call to them would help or get you some support because as you said, they are not cheap.

I forgot to mention one other issue with my 4x4 Gorilla tent. It has a lot of pinholes. Fortunately I don't have to worry about that with my auto's.
