I've been growing 6 lowryders under a 400 watt HPS for the last couple grows. I want to expand so I can grow more plants. Right now I just have them in an open room no cabinet, with a fan blowing on them and the light hanging from the ceiling. I've been averaging an OZ or so per plant.

If I went to 2 gallon smart pots could I fit more???

Also what if I went to a 600 watt light, how many could I fit???

Also If I decided to build a cab, what size would be recommended?????

And last but not least, how much cal/mag should I give per gallon for yellowing plants that are a couple weeks away from chopping?????

Hey Gardner, what size pots are you using right now? You could probably fit 8-10 under a 600w but personally I would rather grow 6 monsters under a 600w. I'm not sure about cab building as I typically use a tent. As for the yellowing they don't need nutes if they're a couple weeks from harvest. The yellowing is just the plant transferring its energy from the leaves to the buds. Have you ever thought of growing a different strain? Lowryders are great but there's higher yielding more potent autos on the market today. I hope this helps :smokebuds:

Do you have any mylar hanging ? I saw you just have the light hanging in an open room... Seems like you could be wasting light and not running as efficient as it could.... your running about .42 grams per wat....... I dunno... just an idea

Hey Green, what strains are big yielders with a good amount of thc in them?????

Mi5 Is the only different strain besides the northern lights, the northern lights are the ones yellowing and they are a couple weeks to go. Im very impressed with the Mi5 and It stinks realy bad when flowering

My bulb looks like its getting blacker on the end, Think its time for a new bulb, anyone know where I can buy a good cheap 400watt HPS bulb??????

If you only have 1 kind of light and a non-adjustable reflector, I'd just keep the 400w and grow fewer plants but grow them in larger containers so they get huge. Plant count isn't so much determined by the intensity of the light, so much as it is how that light is used. You can use a wider-scatter reflector or hood with a 600w and get your effective lumens spread out better to create a larger foot print than a 400w...but if you're just using the same hood and upgrading the bulb and ballast, the main impact that will have will be on yield and quality, not necessarily on how many plants you can run.

Thanks low. Thats why I like coming here, you learn so much from everyone.............Hey Green, what strains are big yielders with a good amount of thc in them?????
