Photoperiod Got two HSO Black D.O.G. Freebies. How do I Grow 'Em?

Hey friends. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm a new grower (halfway through my first grow now) and only familiar with autos so far. Got a pair of Black D.O.G. photo beans as a freebie recently and while I'm really not interested in photo growing at the moment, I kinda want to grow em out and get them out of my seed container so I can keep with the autos, lol.

I know the basics - they need a 12/12 light schedule after a certain period of veg to flip them to flower, and that light leaks are much more of a concern than with autos. But in regards to leaks - how much is too much? I've seen people complaining before that pinholes in their tents caused them issues and I'm just sitting here like...am I gonna have to baby these things the whole way? Create a total, complete, supernaturally dark environment? And how much longer, on average, does a photo grow take compared to an auto grow?

Like I said, might be silly questions, but they're silly questions I have no answer to so hopefully y'all can help!

Yes you want to keep it 100% light free during lights off. How long a photo takes is based on how fast you can grow it to the size you want it before flower. So if you veg 4 weeks then flip to 12/12 and the strain flowers for 8 weeks you will have 12 weeks total or ruffly 3 months. Keep in mind some strains will double or more in size so it good to leave room for this just in case.

Hey @ANTiFA . Photo and auto not much difference really . Only thing to you have to make a photo flower. You can put them in with the autos for the first 4 weeks and when you harvest your autos flip to 12 12 . That way you don't lose time. Light leaks can cause hermies but that should be easy enough to remedy. Go into the tent close it up and look for light leaks and tape them over with duct tape. Good luck

Right on. I guess I was mostly stressed about the light sensitivity. Glad to know it's not as much of an issue/harder to ensure than I had thought! Thanks for the info, @Clix & @islandgrower .
