New Grower GPW...What?

Quite right - let's get back to the realities of growing.
Cant see the likes of DaShadow or Shanti worrying about their spreadsheets.

But I like my spreadsheets! Makes tweaking a lot easier!

Mr Bob - a renown Breeder from out your way - best probably known for his Herijuana F19 and an F1 of a Redberry pheno of the same.
A true Breeder with immense knowledge.

But I like my spreadsheets! Makes tweaking a lot easier!

Prob a good argument for spreadsheet growing but if you'll pardon my saying (without chucking mud), I prefer to read my plants. Just a personal thing.
Haven't found a spreadsheet yet that will spot Spidermites or leafburn - both of which would effect efficiency.

I'd rather Have bob stuff over shantis.

Used to have a friend "Hobbes" that owned gpw contests.
He'd put 1 plant per foot, 12 over a 4x4. Almost 12 / 12 from seed/
Then hed a get light mover an tripple that # to 36.
Then double those to 72, and hand flip those 36 Into an drk room every day. 12hr cycles a.
Lil training to a level canopy aur pruing blolantrs an walla!
He won
lol.

2-4 gpw off a 600 hps an mover in one room every time.
(Strain dependent.)

RIP brother Hobbes from RIU.

That's not what I was referring to. I've spent 15 years in commercial horticulture and tracking spreadsheets are a no-brainer for doing comparative study on how the plants are progressing and helping you adjust accordingly. I.E. tracking growth rates over time versus nute levels to find the sweet spot for maximum effect. Hit and miss attitudes on a grow are a recipe for failure. Just like not doing your homework. It's not just one thing or another, it's the combination of it all that brings maximum yield and potency from healthy plants. One must use the eyes AND the brain to be successful.

Otherwise you're just LUCKY.

Data is a good thing... It helps make the appropriate decisions when they need to be made. I don't know squat about growing, if I record everything I learn something from what I have recorded. Given a set of specifications, it makes it easier sometimes to compare and again make a decision. Growing successfully is just that a series of decisions, if you make enough of the right ones you will have a successful grow. Knowledge either recorded or remembered is how those decisions are made. I would even venture to say that the successful folks mention at one point recorded their data. You may not see them reference it now because they have been doing it so long they "know". But they didn't always know!
