Howdy all!
I thought there was a gardening thread around here for more common plants but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe the thread can be moved if it fits better elsewhere.
It's not a big deal just wanted to show you guys what Walmart had clearanced out as miniature roses... I'm thinking it was more a matter of taking clones of regular ones and calling them miniature, but I have no idea... Either way I am pretty impressed with my green thumb
So here we are, the day after Valentines day. We've all seen the mini roses there, all covered in plastic which starved the bottom growth:
Edit: I forgot to mention that all the buds were either dead or on their way out so I snipped them all off. There were literally just sticks on some of the plants.
That was right after transplanting them. I wish I had taken more pics but the week after transplanting the stalks exploded with small leaflets.
Soon after they already grew out their pots. So I transplanted in larger pots with miracle grow soil. I actually felt weird about buying miracle grow soil since it is so hated with our seven fingered friends, but roses seem to like it:
This one I truly think is a miniature rose.
This one however:
Edit: I get that this plant is stretching because it would really rather be outside but the weather won't allow it. The thing is the leaves on the new growth are as large as the top of the can!
I have two that are growing freaky like this and two that are staying small (I bought 4 total).
I've always had a green thumb like this! It's a curse haha!!!
