I'm so glad to have found this community of growers. My hope is to get support from experienced people here, but also to help others who may learn through my experience.

I have some previous experience growing our beloved plant. Had two indoor grows, of which the first one was fairly successful, but the last one not so much. My biggest dream is to have a natural organic grow, but because lack of/inconsistent info I'm not sure how to go about it. That's one reason I came here seeking for guidance.

I just received my fresh order of seeds today. What would you good people recommend as a best way to start around here? Should I start a growing journal? Since I'm not yet sure about some details of this future grow, should I first try seeking advice in other threads and when I decide on those details only then to open a journal?

:welcome: I'm new to all this myself, but what I have learned is that a grow journal is very helpful. There is no shortage of information on here to help guide you, and plenty of helpful members to hold your hand if you need it. Look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome buddy! :bighug:
Glad you decided to join up!
Organic is definitely my favorite smoke, tastes and smells so much better than hydro. Really, very worth it if you're not going for the ultimate yield.
What strains did you aquire?
As far as starting a journal, I would say just start one and figure it out as you go, I would be happy to help. I'm sure you'll get some insight from this here intro thread also. if anything you can always start a new one once you get it all planned out and ready.
First thing to do would be pick an area of the forum like indoor growing or new growers then just start a thread, start asking specific questions and we'll help you figure everything out. Be sure to check out some journals of similar/desired setups. Feel free to pm any of the high team members with questions, we will do our best to help out!
Slap for your intro!
:slap:

I don't think I ever received a nicer welcome on any forum! I appreciate it much, really.

I surely am not going for the yield so much as for the quality of bud. Truth, it would be nice to decently fill up a jar or two, but the yield is not prioritized here. I want it nice and sticky, smelly rich beautiful natural resin. I want that weed I never tasted before :) I want it all natural. BUT.. last time i tried with no chemical fertilizers I got thin skinny translucent buds. Well, I can't blame it all on fertilizers I guess. That's why I am not sure how to go about this grow.

This time maybe I can make an experiment an do 50-50 fertilizer/organic experiment. E.g. feed one plant with chemical nutrients, other just with naturals...?

Ok, so I got myself these seeds:
Royal Jack
Royal Dwarf
Royal AK
Royal Critical
Royal Bluematic

I'm not planning on germinating all those at once, obviously. Maybe I just start with "easier" ones. If my info is correct, Dwarf and Bluematic are really easy to grow. But I'd need at least one sativa dominant too, so maybe i try 3 strains in the first take...maybe Jack, Dwarf and Bluematic. With all these seeds, I'm hoping to make 2, maybe even 3 subsequent grows this year.

OK sooo...not sure if I should continue here or just open up a journal somewhere.

but yeah thanks for the warm welcome :woohoo:

You're already started here, might as well make the most of it, of course, no reason to not do both! :smoking:
And you're very welcome!

I was considering that mainly because I am not sure how many members read these introductions. I will probably just open a journal and hope people will get interested enough to join in on my journey and be prepared for my many questions along the way :)

Could you recommend any guidelines on starting a journal? Is it enough just to describe my setup in every possible way, put on some pictures and go with the flow?

Totally bud, that's basically what I do, you can always edit later if you find you forgot something. Some people go to extreme lengths to get every detail documented and some are totally freestyle but there's no set right way, personal touch is what makes this place great! :eyebrows:
Also there should be more people by soon, just a bit quiet on the site right now. Hit me with a pm if ever you need anything, I'll do my best.

If you go under the indoor grow section there is a sub section for live grow journals. There are some very good directions on how to set up your journal and plenty of journals to look at for ideas. If you feel like a noob you can read mine for an ego boost  There is also a good chance you will find someone doing a grow very close to your own. I find it helpful to look at those for comparison, especially since I have never really grown, and have never grown auto or the strains I have. Best of luck to you!!

And a very warm Welcome from the Penguin. Thank you so much for taking time to do an intro. I wish many other lurkers would do the same. We don't bite and encourage and nurture new growers and guys new to AFN. You got some right Royal seeds there my friend. I have grown them in the past myself and was pleased with the results.

Keep posting and enjoy all that is AFN.......eP.
