Hello everyone, I am new to growing in general but thought that auto's would be a great place to start because of short height and quick times to harvest. My research quickly led me to AFN where i quickly started reading as much i could. I plan on growing just for myself and for my girlfriend and to further that goal i ordered some of the joint doctors Ryder varieties to try out because i have heard great things about his strains. I have 6 Lowryder #2's 6 Easy's 4 Chronic's and 4 ogre's as well as some freebie autos (Pink lady and Grapefruit punch) from seedsman. We haven't picked which we want to do first yet. Anyone have recommendations? I was thinking maybe 2 #2's and 2 others.
For lighting I got a Mars hydro 144X3 reflector and hope that it will be enough to grow at least 4 auto's in the closet i plan on using. Do people think this is realistic? Does anyone have experience with this light and auto's? If needed i think i can supplement with some cfl's without increasing the temps in the room too much. I have also considered ordering another led if i like the results I get from this one. I want the grow to be as simple as possible and so i plan on using the WG's Grow at Lowes[Easy Dirt Guide]. The only thing i did differently is using a different brand of potting soil and plan on supplementing it with some dolomite lime to help balance ph. I was wondering how much i should use per quart (or whatever unit of volume you like) to accomplish this end? Is it even a good idea at all to use dolomite if i don't know the starting ph of the soil? Whatever I do I want to be able to just add water and the minimal nutrients used in the guide. I have already prepared the soil and have it waiting till after the new year when we will start the plants.
I am happy to be here and can't wait to learn as much as i can and get started on my growing quest.
Best wishes,
Autobliterate
