Hi there,
This is LR2 hailing from the NL. I'm an outdoor hobby grower, trying to make my own special crosses in our shitty weather. I actually don't care much about how much I harvest, as long as I and my friends can smoke for a year. I'm doing this successfully since I was fifteen. Right now I'm 22 years old. So that gives me seven years of experience in the outdoor-growing. My parents are fine with it, and even help me from time to time. They're great!
I do backyard-grows only, so no guerilla or indoor threads for me.
My AF passion started with lowryders #2 (hence the nickname) and from then on, I've been collecting strains from any type of autoflower. Right now I have about 8-9 different AF strains and a few in the making.
I don't like to use much fertilizers and consider myself a biofarmer. This is not because I don't like fertilization -don't get me wrong here-, it is just that it's way too expensive. I make my own compost with worm bins and I use cheaper fruit fertilizer from our local hardware stores mixed with wood ashes.
You might notice my English isn't that great, however, some Englishmen and Americans do a lot worse than I do. So please, don't hunt me down with pitchforks because of my grammar and my bad ability to form full sentences. I'm trying the best I can ;-)
Right now I'm trying a ruderalis cross (Royal Dane, semi-auto from Denmark) with Autoflower Amnesia (Breeder: growerschoice, this one is really delicious!) and Auto mazar to create a high yielding - and very - potent strain, which can withstand most climates and most common diseases (like mildew, stemrot, budrot). So far, the royal dane has shown immunity to all of the diseases listed above.
I'd like to stay in contact with other growers, from other areas to know how they handle their growing, and to keep an eye out for any new interesting strains. I'm also a member of a dutch growing platform called jointjedraaien. Feel free to check it out, we can speak english there too (and they use the same interface). If this is considered a 'commercial' post, moderators: please modify it, I'm sorry, I realy don't know what not to write down.
Right now, it's too late to start any more growing in the netherlands, so I'll be a bit of an inactive member up untill april. Maybe I'll start a growlog describing the final months this year, but there's not much to see except for flowering sativas and some small projects on the side.
I think I can help you with the most common questions about nutes, foiliage problems, and growing pains. But please, help me out here too. I don't speak in feet, ounces, OZ, Fahrenheit or miles. But in centimeters, celcius/centigrade, grams(!), litres and kilometres. We seriously have just one standard in our country, and I've heard most English speaking growers have millilitres/litres as well as their 'native' measurements on their packaging.
Anything special about you LR2?
Well, yes there might be. A friend of mine is a farmer who is struggling with our local government to get a testing field of industrial hemp. He lives about 4 miles from here, and his neighbour allready has two acres of hemp. This ruined my own breeding cycle with contaminated pollen blowing over.
I've been studying psychology for some time now, and I understand most neural processes, even those who include the use of drugs. I should be able to give you some medical advice based on the (unbiased) knowledge I've gathered throughout the years.
What I don't like is pro-cannabis propaganda. As well as anti-cannabis propaganda. I like the truth, even when it hurts. I can't stand people who use invalid arguments or do wrong research to get a biased result. That's what our Dutch government has been doing to try to ban cannabis for a few years now. The worst thing about this, is that our coffeeshops and their organisations are now doing the same. Doing research based upon opinions, instead of numbers and facts. It's like the american election, and that's not the way we roll around here.
Well, that's about it! I hope I'll feel welcome here and that I'll make some new friends! Thanks for reading!
