Hey AFN, Just a thought... I'm considering a organic method to bring up my plants Nitrogen and I wonder what you all have to say about using ground egg shells and used coffee grounds mixed together and added to the top of the soil? Egg shells are 93% Calcium and 1% Nitrogen by volume. I know that there is a understanding that coffee grounds are to acidic and that is true prior to being brewed but afterwards they are very close to pH neutral (between 6.5 - 6.8) and add by volume they are 2% Nitrogen. So what say you?

https://www.autoflower.org/f89/organic-nutrient-list-10758.html Unless you can grind the egg shells to a powder they wont be able to be absorbed by the plant. Both the egg shell and coffee grounds are pretty low in nutrients and really not that good a nute substitute.Check out this link for more things that you can use that are higher in nute value.

Thanks Namvet25. I know that I should have posted this thread on the Organics topic matter in retrospect. I'll get the hang of this site sooner or later. I won't bother then and will just stick with the nutes I have. Peace.

No problem about the post.Don't let me stop you from trying different things, because this is the only way we learn.Good growing to ya.:five:

I'd say both ingredients can be good additives to compost, but I wouldn't put them in a "finished" soil by themselves.
