Indoor Grow Journal: Auto White Widow & Auto Amnesia Haze (Closet Grow)

Dont worry about the Herm.....they will be fine.
On my current grow I had 2 seedlings that would not open their first 2 leaves...there was obviously a issue and they looked like they were getting weaker each day that they didnt open up. I took a razor blade and separated the leaves myself....those plants are huge and never a problem since. Weed is resilient.....

At the moment its kind of a battle for me between controlling the temperature and maintaining a discreet and well hidden grow. To bring down the temp I need to leave the closet door open which obviously lets out a lot of light. Thats no problem during the day but at night it might cause a problem for me. I wish I could install better cooling systems in there but I am not able to butcher this closet that im growing in as it isnt mine. Think I might have to start adding frozen water bottles or something in there to bring down the heat.

Just a quick question out of my own interest. Today is day 10 in my grow and I went to check on the ladies when I woke up this morning and they have started to give off that good stank. When do you guys and gurls find yours start to give of a smell? I know its different for each strain just interested lol.

Day 10 Update

So I have been keeping the girls under bottles to keep the humidity up. Think I will have to take them out tomorrow as they are close to touching the sides of the bottles now. Overall they are looking good, the first leaves are still gnarled a bit from the heat stress but the second set of leaves have come on strong and are looking better. Still having some heat issues. Anyone got any suggestions a on a cheap and effective method of cooling the closet down?

Hey bro looking really nice in here, also loved your story on your introduction thread!

Those 3 little ones look awesome and yeah def on the smell thing brother, I've got a 10 day old giving off a nice little aroma...it's like a tease haha.

I'd say use your imagination on the cooling issue, even some bottles of frozen water can really help bud. If you want to get creative, some home made AC units with lunchboxes and pc fans can help you out!

Thanks Dazed. Yeah thing I will start with the frozen water bottles first and see how I get on. If that's not enough I might have to get the tools out and construct something.

Took the bottles off the girls this morning as a few of the leaves were starting to touch the bottles. They are looking pretty healthy and growing at a decent pace.

yea well thats going to be an issue!
carbon filter and exhaust fan. dont go cheap on the filter or you will have to buy 2 or 3 or 4

Day 11 Update

Slightly late on this update but the pics were taken yesterday. So the girls are out in the open again and I have been attempting to cool the closet with frozen water bottles, which is working enough for now so I will continue with that. All of the girls have pretty developed second leave sets and are sprouting new leaves all the time. Pretty happy with their progress.

Just wondering what height you all think I should have my 250w HPS over the girls. I have been reluctant to lower it too much due to the over heating issue. Currently its sitting at 15 inches above them.

Is your ballast separate from your bulb?
if it is you may be able to put it outside the room.
