Indoor Grow Journal: Auto White Widow & Auto Amnesia Haze (Closet Grow)

Day 20 Update

So since the girls were having problems over the last few days I left them be to see how they got on and the are definitely looking up imo. The two Amnesia Hazes havent developed any further yellow spots and the curled down leaf ends have started to return to normal. Still not 100% sure on what the problem was but I am thinking that they were lacking nutrients having used up all they had in the hot soil. The main reason I think this is because they had been fine up until that point so if the soil was too hot I think they would have shown the signs earlier when they were less hardy. Also the smaller White widow didnt show any symptoms and logically her being smaller would mean she has yet to use all the nutrients available to her. Anyway the WW is due to be watered tomorrow so I will ad some 1/4 strength nutes for her as I dont want her to start showing sign of malnutrition.

All the girls are growing really strong. AH1 is still the tallest and AH2 is pretty bushy, with the WW laging behind a little but still looking pretty. On inspecting the girls this afternoon I found that AH2 and WW have both shown their sex and are both female (AWESOME). As of yet AH1 hasnt sexed but I will be keeping a close eye on her as it should be anytime soon.

Here are some pics:

Problems returning. Damn

Hi folks, So since I flushed and gave the girls 1/4 nutes 5 days ago they had been looking much better and the yellow spots had stopped appearing and curling had returned to normal. However I went to check on the girls this morning and its back. Both the Amnesia Hazes are showing it but more on the larger AH#1. All the girls are really starting to grow at a good pace and have now all shown their pistils.

I am stumped at the moment. I really dont know if I have over fed them or underfed them. It seems to me that they responded well from the flush and the quarter nutes, Im just really not sure which one was the one that helped. I have the feeling that they are growing at such a good rate that they are using up the nutes quicker than I am giving them. I'm feeding them with Plagron Alga grow which is an organic feed (6-10-8).

The Amnesia Haze #1 is the one that shows the symptoms first and then the second Haze tends to start showing symptoms shortly after and the WW hasnt shown any signs of a problem even after giving her 1/4 nutes 2 days ago. The reason Im thinking that I am under feeding is due to the fact that the symptoms are being shown on the biggest plant first then to the second biggest and the smallest has no issue. If I was over feeding I would think that the smallest plant would show the ill effects of over feeding first. I might be being an idiot with this but I really dont know. Both the Hazes are due to be watered tomorrow and Im not sure if I should step up the nutes to 1/2 or cut them out for the time being. Any guidance would be welcomed.

Have you watered them at all since giving them 1/4 strength nutes? 6 days between waterings seems like a lot to me, I appreciate everyone's grow environment is different.
I'd go with 1/2 strength, even if it does burn slightly it's not the end of the world, just back off on the next feed.
Otherwise they look great Prof :)

Sorry my mistake it was Thursday evening that I flushed them so more like 4 and a bit days. I will check them tonight, they probably will need some feeding tonight. So far I have been watering every 4 days but I gave them a real good flushing and there is still some moisture in the soil as of this morning. Think I will go for the half nutes and see how they get on. If the problems get worse then at least I will know thats the problem and can flush them again. Thanks for the advice Gman

Even If you burn them with 1/2 strength I wouldn't be in a rush to flush them Prof. Just back off a bit with the next feed. It's all a learning curve!

Day 23 Update

Just a quick update today. Not a lot happening, still some yellow spots on the leaves of the Amnesia Hazes but no knew ones that I can tell. I fed both the Hazes with 1/2 nutes today so hopefully that will stop any more symptoms showing. I will keep a close eye on them to see if they start showing signs of nute burn. The WW is due for feeding in the next day or two but I'm not sure if I will keep her on quarter nutes or step it up. Suppose I will see how the hazes handle it and make my choice based on that. Overall they really seem to be growing strong.

How did they handle the increase in nutes Prof?

How did they handle the increase in nutes Prof?

So far they seem to be handling it. Havent seen any burnt tips but its only been a day so time will tell. The soil shouldnt be hot anymore anyway as it was only supposed to be hot for 3 weeks so hopefully a good feeding schedule will keep them right. Think they may have calmag deficiency as well so I might give them a little boost of calmag with their next feed.
