Indoor Grow Journal: Auto White Widow & Auto Amnesia Haze (Closet Grow)

Day 28 Update

Been busy at work recently so I havent been able to update as much as I would like. Will probably switch to doing weekly updates for the time being as there isnt really much to report on a day to day basis. The girls are still growing really strong and are all on 1/2 grow nutes. I have decided that I will be switching to bloom nutes on their next feeding which will be either Monday or Tuesday. I decided to make the switch cos they are already pretty big and I would rather they finished a little earlier to give me more smokin time before I move back to England. Currently the AH#1 is at 22inches, AH#2 17inches and WW 16inches. All the girls have developed plenty of bud sites and are starting to smell real good.

Anyone seen this before?

Hi everyone,
Over the past couple of days I have been noticing that the new leaf growth on my Amnesia Haze #1 is twisting. Im really not sure what is causing this as it looks different to heat stress and my other girls arent showing the same things. All the girls are being fed the same with the same water so I'm not sure. Hopefully one of you has seen it before.

Here is a pic: 20141006_093115.jpg

It only seems to be the new leaves at the very top that are twisting. The new leaves around the other bud sights arent doing this, However all of my girls are developing new leaves with yellow tips. The tips dont look burt just yellow and once the leaf develops in size they turn back to green. I'm not sure if its a ph issue or a nute issue. My water is at around 6.5 with a run off of about 6.2-6.3. I'm trying to only use mostly organic nutes so they might be deficient on something.

Also when I switch to bloom nutes should I just feed bloom or should I do half grow half bloom for the first time?

Hi Crunk :) The yellow tips could be a sign of hot nutes. And, my first AWW run, I got that curl up/twist when my top got a bit too close to my LED- not really burned/bleached, but def stressed. How far is/was the light, for the past couple days?
For me, when its nute switch time, I don't mix 50/50. I only flush if they're showing a need, so there are still grow nutes in the dirt. (my current grow will be a learning experience-got plenty of starter nute in the soil, so its watch for the dilution...)
Have a great week, Brother! Check in with you later :):Sharing One:

Yo Wax, think I will go to 1/4 bloom nutes for a week to see if that helps with the yellowing. The AH#1 is probably about 9 or 10 inches bellow the light (will have to measure tonight to be more exact. It would make sense as she is the tallest and the only one showing the twisting. So far I have been judging the heat from the light using the hand method but maybe I am more resilient to heat than the girls lol. I have been keeping the light at about 16inches but they grow so damn quick I have to raise it up every few days. It is due to be lifted so I suppose I will do that tonight and hopefully it helps.

Help Please

So I went to feed the girls today and noticed that the White Widow is showing some brown spots on a few of her leaves. It doesnt seem to be all of the leaves yet. Mainly to badly affected ones and one other showing signs that its going the same way. They have just been fed with 1/4 bloom nutes and a little cal mag. Ph is still within a decent range of 6.5 - 6.3 for run off. I have a feeling it might be getting too crowded in the cloet for the girls. The WW sits in the middle of the two Amnesia Hazes. I have noticed that there has been some leaf sweating due to them overlapping with thier neighbour. Im really not sure what this is. Both the Hazes look fine. I have also noticed that the WW's leaves are looking slightly yellower than before. Not completely yellow like they are dying but a yellowish hue to the green. I have also checked al the girls for signs of pests and didnt find any.

Here is what I found:

Day 36 Update

So the girls have been growing even more ove the past week with Amnesia Haze #2 now coming in as the tallest at 29 inches. She has always been lagging behind AH#1 who is now 28 inches but over the past 2 days she has been stretching a lot. Both the hazes are looking really healthy but unfortunately the White Widow has seen better days. She is continuing to develop lots of brown spots on her leaves and some leaves appear to be dying. Not sure if I should remove the bad leaves or only take them off when they are completely dead. I have stepped all of the girls up to half bloom nutes and calmag. If they continue to grow much more I might be in trouble with the height I have availbale. The light can probably only be moved up another foot. Bud sights seem to be developing strongly and even though the WW is looking crappy her buds are the most developed.

Day 45 Update

Hey all, Thought I would do an update as I have been falling behind on them lately. Unfortunately there is some bad news. My White Widow has failed on me and has been chopped. She just got progressively worse and worse with nearly all her leaves getting brown spots on them. Her buds still looked ok but even the sugar leaves were growing brown. I decided to chop her down so that I can give the two Amnesia Hazes some more space to breath and hopefully flourish. I will use what I got from the WW to make some hash, no point in letting her go to waste. After chopping her I found that she was root bound which may have accelerated her down fall.

Both the Hazes still look strong and healthy with a little yellowing beginning in the lower leaves. Buds are still developing nicely and the first amber pistils are starting to show. They both seem happy on the nutes they are getting and look like they have plenty more to give.

Hows things proof? Maybe loosing one of the plants could turn out to be a blessing in disguise, should give a little extra light to the other two.
