Does anyone use grow through grids? I don't see many in use in journals and threads.

I am no SCROG guru by any measure. I'm still in basic training (pun intended) and always looking for grow hacks that produce results in the garden.

After waffling and mucking around with topping and LST and trying to settle myself down in to a good approach for plant training after applying all the lessons learned I found a tool that I like very much.

The beauty of this devise is....
Cheap. $7 for a solid metal robust device.
Easy to use. Cut legs to length, insert in your container and have fun.
No big SCROG trellis net across the whole tent floor. Each plant has its own trellis support
The grids symmetrical structure means equal spacing which is good for cola spacing and it looks good too.
Compared to tie down LST where you have to get down low, you just stand over the plant and adjust her from above.
Leaf tucking. The best part for last. When you tuck a leaf under the grid it stays there. And you can tuck across the full canopy easily.

This is a Stilton Special on day 36 in an autopot. This plant has been so nice to grow without even doing anything. I added the grid a week ago and its been a lot of fun since then. Next up is trying the grid of more "difficult" plants in the next week.

The main reason I don't like scrog is because I grow so many different Plants to and start them at different times. Plus I don't like laying my plants out too horizontal, it takes up a lot of space. People make these, but is convenient to buy. I however might like them to be smaller, just to train. Not lay out as much. I like variety. Once you start laying things out too much you have room for less plants. I actually think a small rectangular one would work better for people with tents. Glad you found something you like. It's easier and better for you, that's what we all want for ourselves.

Nice job.
How do you fix this to the pots, i am using 15L autopots and wouldn’t mind something similar to play with

It’s not practice to have a full scrog as I can’t reach easy, but this would solve that somewhat.

In this case there are 3 metal legs you attach anywhere to the round grid. You can attach them right on the outer edge of the grid or any point inside the grid if you have small OD pots. This grid is a bit big at 16 inches diameter and I cant find any smaller ones. So I'm making these work. Ideally I think 14 inch would be better. 12 could be too small for autopots.

Below you can see a brand new grid with the legs attached and its sitting in a stack of half size 8 liter autopot. I have not cut these legs down to size yet, but I will once I know more about what the height I want for the smaller autopots. I have 5 more grids to apply myself over the next week as some young plants start to stretch and I see how tall they are going to get.
