Never run 24/0. I've run 24/0 and 20/4 and noticed more vegetative and bud growth with 20/4. Plant's need a night period, growing it under 24/0 defeats the purpose of nature.
Plants grow faster in the night-period, it's been proven. I can't be bothered to link references but I'm sure if you look around you'll find it.
Some have had great success with 24/0 (like you), others like myself haven't. I prefer 20/4.
You can't be bothered with links to evidence to back up your claims? Claiming fact without evidence is called
speculation. I know you're trying to be helpful Chad and I hope you take this in a friendly, good vibed manner :karma Cloud: , but sometimes posting what we
think or speculatively believe (while claiming hard truth,) can be more harmful than refraining from posting at all; or posting with no evidence to back it up. There are a lot of new growers and new members to the site; we should be working towards keeping clean, accurate information on here and leave the speculation (unless it's stated to be so, there's nothing wrong with having an opinion, just make sure you state it as such) on the back burner, know what I mean? Not trying to harsh out on you bro, just trying to keep facts straight

iggy Hug:
I've been running 24/0 since germination. Once germinated, put under 125W CFL on a 24/0 schedule. Let them pop a few leaves and they've been under 1800W of HPS/MH mix on a 24/0 light schedule for a little over three weeks now. I've never seen my autos grow so fast in my entire life. To be fair and critical of my own statement; I have learned to dial in on some things and I've added amendments to my growing medium, so quite possible it's not the extra 6 hours of light that's giving me such epic growth. I too will have some heating issues with my grow this winter; that's why I decided to try a 24 hour light period to help keep temperatures more constant. I've flowered at 18/6 with my autos in the past; and recently tried a 12/12 flowering cycle with an auto in my photo tent. 12/12 gave me big, airy buds, but I won't count out the possibility that I flubbed up on the plant.
So anyways, to the original poster, based on the information presented here by other members, it's my opinion you'd be pretty safe going 24/0. I don't plan on dialing mine back at all; so if you want a point of reference you're more than welcome to follow along with me on my grow! Here's a link to
my current journal.
Also, if you want to join in the dark debate; here's a new thread I saw just popped up today: "
Dark Period for cannabis, yes or no?"
Lastly, just some food for thought or to plant the bug in your ear, it does appear that some autoflower strains have different light cycle dependencies. That's why you see some threads going "why isn't my autoflower auto flowering?" Often times these guys will have success by dialing back their lights-on schedule (to a more traditional 18/6 or even 12/12 photo flowering lighting.) There are a lot of things that can cause this: environmental, lighting, temperature, poor or young genetics, etc. Just something to keep in mind; it seems pretty darn intermittent from what I've seen. :stylez rasta smoke:
Hope that helps out a bit!
