Hey guy i was thinking about using fox farms ocean soil would i need to mix it with anything else. What do you guys think about root organic soil which one is better? what nutrients would you guys recommend with either one?

https://www.autoflower.org/f44/ Either one are good,but almost everyone adds some extra perlite for more drainage.Ther are so many different nutes you can use so I suggest you read the knew growers thread and the other ones on soil and fertilizers to get some basic info you can use.

I've said this a lot in the past few days...
I far prefer Roots Organics, you'll hear differing opinions. I like mine mixed with 20% worm castings and 30% perlite, plus 1-2tbsp of dolomite lime per gallon of soil. As far as nutes are concerned, I would use an organic all-in-one line, such as General Organics' line (38 bucks or so for a complete starter pack) or Roots' line, Buddha Grow and Buddha Bloom. :thumbs:

I avoided 
when I started because of all the hype nothing against it. Roots has been a learning experience but I stuck with it and by my 4th plant I've gotten comfortable with it. First 3 plants were all over 2 zips so no failures but after some ph issues and gnats I add 2tbl lime per gallon and 1/4 of a mosquito dunk crushed mixed near the top layer. Ph remains more stable and no bugs. Roots is very suited for organic growing I use the nutes also but not until 3 or 4 weeks as the soil is pretty fortified. Because first feed is after budding starts very little grow nutes used you can almost go right to bloom. Oh yeah no lime use cal-mag with lime use way less.

not sure how im liking this root organics... think im going to go back to OF and LW mix.... liked roots (cheaper, a lot) but with the gnats ( i know can happen on any brand soil ) it sorta turned me off... will see if next bag of ffof has gnats (than i know its hydro shop) will see, but have to say seeing good results with the mosquito dunks! Thanks for that tip..... works..
