`Better get it apart before it rots.
Is she an auto or photo?
Keep up with the grow until after your stretch. So, the renovation is over and I’m going to 12/12 at lastI switched to Maxi grow, bloom, and hyper bloom a couple of weeks ago. I ran out of Terra Aquatica Tripart and wanted to try the Maxi line. I would say it’s much cleaner when mixing.
Do I switch to Maxi Bloom on day one of 12/12 or mix grow and bloom for the stretch? I read that it’s a very stretchy strain. And for Maxi Hyper Bloom add it in week 5-6 and finish with Maxi Bloom? The flowering time is 8 weeks. Thank you for any guidance guys![]()
Happy to know the pics are helpful.etails, are a course in itself. Especially the last two.
Scrupulously studying these four pics, saved and zooming in 200% for fine details, are a course in itself. Especially the last two. Each time I go back to that last one, I learn something new.
Wow! That is one big bud!!!Harvest tomorrow. Day 131. I definitely messed up the nutrients / PH getting lazy at the end, unfortunately.
It did, however, grow into one big solid kola... It is solid all the way through, the branches can't be separated, it's like a solid plate. The pictures don't do it justice.
I'm really curious what the inside looks like. I'm hoping it's mostly trichromes all the way through, but it might be leafy...

Nice!!!Dutch Passion Daiquiri Lime. Day 97, harvest day. As I've written previously, only wish I would
have been able to do the full 420 treatment on her. I don't have enough experience to guess
dry weight, but she's obviously been a big success. Interestingly, most of her roots were in the drain bin,
under 1/2" slices of rockwool. I have a plan, next grow, to reduce the number of cubes in the tower,
and use a larger drain bin with my rockwool layer -- an ad hoc 'slab'. Thanks again to 420 and others
for their help with growing this way. It's a total winner. I have some 'first year player' observations,
and learning experiences, that I will post later, to possibly help anyone who embarks on the 420 journey.

With the 420 Method, does the shape, combination/configuration of the cubes, matts, etc. , the way they are stacked/interfaced, matter, or is it the total volume that matters? Such as is there a difference using a cube vs. non-cube with the same volume?
Is it recommended (or not) to allow the roots to massively grow into the reservoir (or "drain bin" as shown above)? Or is it better to say wrap or sit the base on a root-stopping fabric/geotextile, or elevate the base (other than when bottom feeding) so the roots there air prune?

Wow! That is one big bud!!!
She sure fattened up since the last time you showed her. Curious to know what she weighed.
Looks like a couple pounds.
Nice!!!
You grew some huge colas @Mongoose. Some of them actually look like the shape of baseball bats! Lol. Doing wonders with those 4x4” cubes my friend. Glad the 420 method is working for you.

Volume is important when growing in soil but not so much with top fed hydro. IMO the frequent fertigation is what helps extend veg time and grow big plants, I’ve grown large autos in Grodan 4x4” cubes, Grodan 6x6” Hugo blocks and also 2 gallon bags of coco but the THC Bomb from Bomb Seeds was my highest yielding auto so far and she was grown in my 6x9” Hugo configuration. I currently have 2 monster autos that I just scrogged out in their own 3x3’ tents that would be a good comparison, one is growing in Hugo blocks (324cu in) and the other in a 2 gallon (462cu in) plastic grow bag filled with Cloud Coir coco. With the 420 Method, does the shape, combination/configuration of the cubes, matts, etc. , the way they are stacked/interfaced, matter, or is it the total volume that matters? For me, the jury is still out on all of that, given what this guy has done with single 4" rock wool cubes ...
