Indoor Growing Scrog

Have only done rockwool. But 420 sometimes does a mix of rockwool and coco, and IIRC, he has written that results are ~the same.

Semi-related ... I have simplified germination. No more paper towels. A three hour soak in 1% hydrogen peroxide, then right into a starter rockwool cube. Has worked every time, and no more worry/fussing with the tap root. I throw water/nutes to the seedlings however many times a day. Rockwool drains right through. I don't see a need to worry that.

That’s a great way to germinate. I had a problem with the tap root when putting it into the pot.

Second week of flower. I schwazzed on 12/12 and defoliated the tops two days ago. The leaves are growing back every day😃 Should I go harder like a full schwazz again?

. Does reservoir water temperatures matter? I heat my floors so I can’t put a reservoir in another room.

Yes temp matters to a point temps over 72f water doesn’t hold as much dissolved oxygen. Sometimes you have to watch cause circulating pumps can heat Rez up

Some nutrients become less available outside of normal temps. Higher temps also promote all sorts of microbes both beneficial and malevolent.

Yo mate! How are the new ladies doing @420autoflower ? :pighug:

And whats the tricross strain you have in the pictures written on the Grodan blocks, something new?

Cheers man :d5:
Hello brother!
Sorry for not posting your ladies. :rolleyes1:
Got a lot on my plate at the moment and I just finished getting them ready to show. I’ll post one shortly.

Tricross was from Atlas seeds.

Thanks 420! Yeah, I've not published the runts with short woody stems. Has happened with five different strains. The one that had loooong node spacing had significant day/night temp changes, and ironically, was advertised by FastBuds as one of their 'shorter/stockier' plants. My macro climate is a challenge: 6 months of the year it's 90 degrees every day, AC running. With lights on 24/7, I have zero 'DIF'. Even with an 18/6 schedule, I have almost no DIF. But the other 6 months of the year my macro day/night temps swing significantly, so I can get a 5-10 degree DIF overnight if I turn the lights off for 6 hours. That was the case with the long legged lady's environment. All other parameters the same with all the plants. It's my best guess at the moment. But without reasonable spread between nodes ... everything gets messed up.

Here are some examples from Michigan State University on the effects of DIF on stem length. Applies to cannabis too, I have read ...

Your DIF might not be ideal but I really don’t see it being an issue or affecting your growth in a big way. I do see a couple things that could have been done different in your last 2 grows but I honestly didn’t see any problems with the structure of your plants. I even went back to page 135 to see how the last 2 developed and Mr Monster did grow long limbs but the pheno you started at the same time didn’t, so that leads me to believe it had more to do with genetics than DIF. Hard to tell plant height in pictures but it looks like the girl you just harvested had nice long limbs too. What is the height of your average plant before you scrog?
Re-circulating is cheaper and easier too! :toke:
:yeahthat:

I’ve never tried hydrogen peroxide germination but I’ll give it a try with my next round since you’re getting good results. Seems easier and possibly quicker.

Hard to tell in your pics but it looks like you have plenty of room to do a rescrog.
I would cut the existing net to free them up, give them another schwazz, elevate the plant on the right to the height of the plant on the left and spread them out even further with a new net. If you’re having a hard time pulling them down to spread them out you can still apply more HST at this stage of flower. Your photos are big and this is the only way to maximize full potential.

Luckily I haven’t had a problem yet. My summer tent temps are close to 100F. 😬

Thanks for the tips. I will do another rescrog tomorrow and if needed I will apply HST. Do I need to flatten them out 90 degree or just spread them evenly a little bit? I will check your posts where you rescrog them.

You don’t have to flatten again but spread your canopy out as much as you can by pulling the branches down and out with the new net after you level the plants.
