Grow Mediums Hard water

Is it worth it though? My first ever hydro grow came out at 29 ounces 5 plants using shitty 0.8 tap water. Most people would have better tap water than me, im making changes in my grow tent but water isn't one of them. I can see the point in removing chlorine in some cases...but I dont really see the point in removing minerals and stuff you're going to pay money to buy in a bottle and add back in.

Your right, it may not be worth it. However, some hard water is actually detrimental to plants, some minerals we can tolerate are toxic to some plants. Water under 250 ppms is likely fine for plants. Over that, an inline filter is $29.00 . They don't have to be installed in a water line, with a couple fittings you can attach one to a hose, etc. IMO, unless you have a water report, or have it tested, whats NOT worth it to me is risking ruining a lot of work and some possibly expensive genetics, by doing nothing about a crappy water source. I always dechlorinate my water but that's just me. I had a serious chlorine exposure working in a pulp plants many years ago. I couldn't get the smell or taste out of my nose and mouth for a week! I can smell chlorine when someone runs a water tap 20 feet away. I don't want that poison anywhere near me and I refuse to drink chlorinated water, sure as hell won't give it to my plants!

I have used tap water (NO chlorine).
PPM around 250-500 ec up to 1.0 without problems.
i also filtered my tap water with a britta / dafi filter (time consuming)
After filtering my tap water twice its around 120 ppm.
But i could not see any difference at all in my grow
"My 2 cents"
No tap water is the same.
first hand experience should properly be the best.
Stay green
