Hi guys,

I am a new grower and I need your opinion on chop down time. Since I dont have a microscope I need to understand by checking pistils. It is an autoflower day 57.

Thanks for your kind replies.

Couple of weeks to go would be my guess as well.

You can get a 60x - 100x cheapie off eBay for $7 delivered. They work fine.

An old but not very accurate way was to chop em down when 75-80% of the hairs on the entire plant had turned red.

You still have a fair number of green leaves, albeit deficiency plagued, so you have some time left. Please buy a scope, it's far better to see the actual trichomes than it is with guess work.

yea a scope works wonders, i would get one if i were you but if thats not possible get some close up shots of the buds so we have a better idea of how far along your girl actually is

Or you can get something like this...

For just a few dollars more, it does a much better job.

Either way, using the USB scope or a good camera, it allows you to actually take a still shot that you can look at in depth on a computer screen. In my opinion that is way better than trying to hold a small jeweler's loupe still enough to get a good look at your buds.
