Mephisto Genetics Hbss, pre harvest, harvest and final weights.

So time for another update, both plants have been on ph adjusted water all week, now going to leach plants on straight unadjusted for the next 7-10 days.
Plant 1 is currently under an old ufo ( needed the hs1 for one of my chemdogging plants that was really behind). She is still a big plant, tall and wide about 103 cm tall and easily 80 wide. Top colas are really firming up, as in like rock cakes. She was too big to move out the drobe.

Plant 2 is smaller, but is filling out really nicely. All bud sites have needed support, also with hard, dense buds.

At a guess, I would say both plants should yield at least 75-80 grams each, but could well be more.

Next update will be on harvest day, then dry weights on the scales. Dry weights are always done at 62-63 RH .

So here goes some really crap photos taken with my old phone.

Plant 1 still in drobe

Some serious weight on those girls might tie buds up for support next time they are bending pretty good due to their own chunky goodess

Chunky goodness indeed, totally different growth to the chemdogging which has a massive, strong main stem and looks like it will support itself to the end.
Have seen a couple of Hbss grows where lots of support has been needed, hard to complain though if yields stay high. Would have to say well done mephisto for making it so easy to grow, a real pleasure with no issues at all.

Should also add the smell ha changed from the bubblegum to something I can't describe, sort of a dark, dank fruit with a very slight hit of almost citrus. The house was full of the smell for about an hour after I took the lady out for her photo shoot, shocked me as I never smell anything outside my room.

Current cold spell has also affected my grow, with temps dropping to about 25, which for me is less than perfect and always drastically changes the amount of fluid the girls drink. Normally plug in my oil heater, but without the tent made things a bit awkward, now purchased a tube heater, so back to thirsty girls.

Not sure how related it is, but the one spell of cal/ mag def I had this year was during a test to see if lower temps would effect growth/ final yields. I run 25 as an average for about three weeks, ( normally run temps of 28-30) with 2 X Fantasmo, 2 X sour blues, both suffered at the same point with the def, both sets were poor drinkers and ultimately gave me my worst harvest of the year.

Final point is plant 2 is starting to get crazy fox tails on main cola, far more than what I would expect to see, plant 1 hardly has any.

Both plants harvested today, not exactly sure until I check with my assistant, but around day 90. This is much longer than I wanted and to be honest could of had another 5 days but needed my hs1

Last big water leaching was 5 ltrs on Tuesday, with about 20% run off.

Have been in semi dark for last 12 hours before chop.

So on with the pics

Some smaller bud shots, nice and dense, actually still a good size

Due to me changing from a tent and my preferred lighting techniques, I have ended up with a shit load of smaller buds, probably about a good oz between them. Have not had this over the past 3 harvest, so a bit of a shock.
But not all bad, using my paper bag guessollogy, I know there is at least 75 g on each plant. Based on past harvest, a full layer of bud in my paper bags equates to roughly 16 g and have a good 14 bags.

My aim as always is to get at least the gram/ watt, have been hitting about 1.2 g/w over the last few harvests.

Due to humidity rising high lately and lots of growers getting bud rot, buds have been broken down smaller than normal, nothing bigger than golf ball size.

Will do final dry weights in about 6 days when they are around 62% RH.

Almost forgot to add, that dank, bubblegum smell returned on harvest, looking forward to this one curing.

Many thanks for the rep, really appreciate it.

Will start a new thread soon on my other girls, currently 2x chemdogging, 1x Hbss, 3x sour blues ( hopefully without cal/ mag def this time).

Just gave the bags their daily shake, airflow, temp and humidity are all good in the fridge so hopefully no rot.

Lovely grow and lovely looking produce Bro! Rocking the HS1 drobes my man!

Great harvest man! Im sure I see a little purple in those buds... Congratulations! I reckon you'll have 5.5 Oz each

Cheers Think, but I reckon a maximum of about 3 oz each, was lots of popcorn easily an oz. Still more than happy though. Looking forward to seeing your dry weights.

Cheers Bunny, yeah the Hbss is great to grow as you know and the hs1 are an excellent bit of kit. Liking the jungle in your cupboard, good luck with the rest of the grow.

Many thanks guys for the rep, really appreciate it and happy growing.

So here goes with the final update and dry weights.
Firstly, through fear of the dreaded rot, which has never been a problem all buds were broke down far more than normal. A extra fan was put in my drying fridge, although this was definitely not needed and as a result has over dried my bud. Never had it happen before and dam sure it won't happen again. Checked RH% and it was 45%, shit.

Anyway buds are slowly coming back up and definitely no mood issues.

On with the pics,

So plant 1 was 3oz and plant 2, 2oz a total of 152 grams. Really surprised me as I believed plant 2 was a bigger yield. Extra drying probably hasn't helped the weights either.
But after the complete f**k around these plants have had changing from a tent to a drobe and trying to dial in the environment then I suppose I should not complain. Still hitting the gram/watt which is always my baseline in my perpetual grow.

Will be starting a similar thread on my 2 chemdogging due to harvest in about 30 days. One is a beautiful big girl which has remained completely under a ufo led the other is, well, pretty piss poor, currently now under 1 X HS1.

Would I grow the Hbss again, without a doubt, currently got another one at 30 days.
Top three plants for yield for me are currently Think different which has always done well, sugar black rose, which was a beautiful plant to grow and really filled out in the last 2 weeks and now Hbss which is pretty resilient to temperature and humidity changes as well as generally messing it about.
