Hi there having a wee bit of a problem with heat in my grow room since changing over to HPS from CFL it is sitting at above 90F when the lights are on and the extremely rare hot weather we are having just now not helping high 80's for my fresh air intake. I have a 5" intake fan and carbon filter in the attic pumping cool fresh air into my grow room.

I also have two medium sized desk fans in the grow room one which I have set at full speed between the lights and plants the other I have running a bit slower and is set to oscillate to circulate the air around the room. Because the temperature is so high it is also obviously making the room very dry and not humid at all I have tried leaving water in a glass in the corner to try and add moisture to the air will this help ? really cant think of anything else I can do. I also have a 6" fan and carbon filter drawing the hot air out of the room and being pumped straight out through the roof, on the opposite side of the roof I have the intake taking in fresh air through a carbon filter.

The attic itself is not that warm either you can feel it is much cooler than in the room. Are there any tricks or advice on to how to lower the temp and raise the humidity ? Any help appreciated here are some pics of the flowers so far :

Hey BB

I think most of us are suffering with the heat at the moment, short of getting a small air con unit (argos), you could try freezing some 2 litre bottles of water and putting them in the path of your air movement fan, this might cool the air a bit (but they'll probably melt within an hour or two, so will be a pain to keep rotating)

As for raising humidity, if you have space and a spare tray, you could pop some water in it and have a fan blowing accross that - it will raise the humidity a little.

Just a couple of thoughts! ^_^

thanks guys that's exactly what been doing blue using a pot run off filled half full of water cant believe how fast it disappears though also been freezing the 2 litre bottles good to know that I have been trying everything I may have to bite the bullet and get an aircon unit if weather continues I have never seen so much sun and felt so much heat in Scotland where you can have four seasons in one day I wouldn't be cursing the weather if my grow room wasn't suffering lol, I have also just noticed timer might have fried as it not turned lights off today so looks like spare will be getting used already woops 24 hours of light in these temps wont have been helping the situation lol but hopefully now its in its dark period will help a lot giving the room time to cool must have only broke yesterday or today and this is when I have had the heat problems as was out yesterday during dark period so assumed it had turned off thanks again for the quick response guys much appreciated and good luck with the heat
