Ha that got ya , well guys I had this brain burst of an idea and it was all to do with pumice stone and as I live a long way from a big town and can't get what we want any old time I am always thinking about whats around me , so we come to pumice stone and there is heaps on the beaches around here , now this is what I have come up with , sort of a tube of dirt inside a ring of pumice stone [ which I used a bread crate for sieving to get size ] now after reading up heaps on pumice stone about it's oxygen holding capacity and how plant roots love oxygen I though - Hello - maybe it could work with what I had in mind , I am thinking the roots will grow though the layer of pumice and air prune once they hit the outer edge . [ may have to add more holes to the pot ] now I have flushed the pumice with a hell of a lot of fresh water to get rid of the salt . The one thing with pumice is it retains water if soaked to long so I am thinking small amounts of watering each time so the pumice doe's not get to water logged . I have run water though the pot once it was finished and seems to drain very well and fast , anyway what do ya think [ I have just seeded it to give it a go ]

Will be interested to see how this goes mate . I collected pumice from my local beaches too, gonna give it a go to replace perlite.....
