Live Stoner Chat Hello AFN!!

I am sure those lights will work well enough...others have done okay with them!! They are just not super efficient, but they will grow fine weed. Ive run galaxyhydro lights before and done well enough. Just dont expect more than 1 gram per watt(if you grow well)
Great to meet you, good luck on your grows!

I’d wet my pants if I could grow 1/2 gram per watt. To be honest I’ll be happy if I can get these plants from seed to the end of their natural life cycle. I’ve never been accused of being a green thumb; however, I have learned much here and I know there is a lot of support for success. Thank you again!

1/2 gram per watt is a reasonable goal to start! Guys here will help you achieve your goal man.

I bet you wet your pants more than once before the end! you have all the tools you need, done your homework, and a whole family of eyes along for the ride. How is your patience? :yoinks: you are going to do well

Well, patience is one thing I do have. Because I only have my unheated insulated garage to grow in, I’m concerned that I may have to wait until Spring before I can get started. I am currently installing a sub panel to bring appropriate power into the garage for growing. My plan is to setup the tent for growing and see if I can maintain the correct environmental conditions to grow before germinating a seed. I will likely have to insulate the tent and run a heater inside it. If I can’t maintain temp then I either install a natural gas heater for the garage or only grow from Spring to Fall. Heating the garage when it’s -40 C (also equal to -40F) will be costly. Those temps don’t usually last more than a few days at a time outside but it will be devastating to a plant if I can’t control the temperature in the tent while it is that cold.

Hi AFN!! I am a soon to be grower for the first time and I have been soaking up info from this site for a couple of months now. I love the vibe of the community and I have learned a ton from new and experienced growers. I hope to make some contribution to the site also. I’ve been accumulating gear for a tent grow in my garage and I’ve recently received some Mephisto beans.

I have to admit that I am already a big fan of Mephisto and I haven’t even dropped a bean. Customer service, solid genetics, and freebies!! I felt like a kid opening a box of cereal to find the prize inside! This was very refreshing after getting burned by an unnamed seed bank before finding the Mephisto site. I am a loyal customer now!

Looking forward to posting my first grow when the time comes and being part of the community. All the best!!

That is a bit chilly! A good source of electricity is important too. Good luck with the heat, I think a few use tube heaters and a few other things. Will have to have a layer under the tent too, cant have cold roots

Chilly is right!! It’s a rude awakening when you walk out into those temps and your boot soles harden up so much it’s like wearing clogs! I am placing the tent on a pallet with 2” foam insulation in between. I’m also considering propagation heat mats under the pots to help keep the roots warm on those cold days and an oil filled heater inside the tent.
