Live Stoner Chat Hello everyone first time grower glad to be here

Thanks alot man yea did alot of homework before I started out read alot on forums feels good to finally be apart of one. I feel like the marijuana movement is gonna change the world and I'm glad I can be apart of it now. Thanks for the warm welcome. Positive vibes your way man

Thank you man feels good to be here and thank you was one of my favorite ones I found. Will have to check back in so often to see how things are going. Positive vibes your way

Thank you for a little direction was a little confusing where to start and yea my friend got me started he had a little smaller set up running same style as I am he was showing great result so he set me up same as him thought I would try things out and branch out from there I will switch to hps during flower but from what I have seen of this setup it proves to produce nice buds. I'm curious what do you usually see thats common for most people to use?

Ahh okay so you do have HPS available as well. Ive run MH throughout flower before and got some very kind bud, but bud production is better under an HPS. Theres a few that run HPS for sure, and a few that run CMH, but i would say the majority here are running LEDs, and Cobs certainly seem to be leading the pack in production.

Yea I'll switch to hps for flower I have seen bulbs people say can run the whole grow but my spectrum rating is 6500 on my mh so idk how well that would work for flower being such a blue spectrum. How are the leds with yield people run them the whole grow I assume?

hey buddy welcome to afn! anything you need while your here just tag us @EvilScotsman like that and we'll do our best to help you out.
leds can indeed be used right through the grow with awesome results. as skelly pointed out there though, cobs definately seem to be the way forward. cost a fraction of what the hps does to run aswell : )

Thank you any help is appreciated. Yea I haven't seen my electric bill since u started so well see how much it has jumped up. I'll definitely look into the cobs more though this is my first of many grows hopefully so I'll have to experiment for sure thank you for the welcome and advice. I started my first journal stop in from time to time to see how it is going they seem off to a slow start I been running 24hr light cycle think I need to throw in a dark and start multiple feedings hopefully they take off soon. Thanks for stopping in positive vibes your way

Yeah bud, guys are running the same spectrum all throughout growth with leds(though some lights have a veg/flower switch). I run an odd setup(very little vertical), so i chose my spectrum with a very heavy red oriented and IR with UV. Produces short tightly stacked plants. Works great for my application and the cost was cheap as they are old tech lights. I pull .8-1gpw which i am happy with considering the cheap cost of the setup.
Several members here running new tech cob LEDs are getting stunning results, with many surpassing 2 and 3 grams per watt.

As for metal halide...i did several experiments many years ago using solely MH and HPS (T8s for seedling phase). The yields were quite diminished using solely MH and plants tended to be taller and nodes more spaced, but the pot was very, very good and i found often had a different smell and taste than the same clone strains under HPS.

Yea I know someone who wanted to try leds so glad to hear some good reviews I can pass along.those are nice turn outs for running so cheap nice and less detectable for people in nonlegal states.when you ran mg through the whole grow what kelvin rating or spectrum was your bulb rated at if you remember?

If they have the startup and space i would definitely get the new style Cob leds...they are great for saving cash on electricity for what you get in buds. Hmm not sure about the spectrum on the leds i have
