Yea I'll have to let him know he is building a room so should have whatever space he needs. And I'm sure it must be a pretty balanced spectrum if people are running same through whole grow to high of one I would think would hurt yeilds but then idk anything about leds so I could be wrong.

If you ask me, LEDs are the wave of the future for growing. Already they are proving themselves to be quite an efficient effective choice. Even the cheap old tech for me are working great. If i had the space, i would love to see what i could do with a CoB/CMH lighting setup!!

Completely new grower and new to forums hope to learn some great tricks to growing great quality buds and pass on info as well. Starting with a 5x5 grow tent 1000w metal halide running ballast at 50% I'm running a coco coir with perlite mix in 1 gal smartpots running 6/9 nutes my temps are 75-77 rh is 50-55% these pics were taken today at 18 days old of some mephisto sour crack

Sounds like you did your research and it shows, those plants are looking super happy in their new home and I'm lovin' it. Welcome to the tribe.

Thank you for a little direction was a little confusing where to start and yea my friend got me started he had a little smaller set up running same style as I am he was showing great result so he set me up same as him thought I would try things out and branch out from there I will switch to hps during flower but from what I have seen of this setup it proves to produce nice buds. I'm curious what do you usually see thats common for most people to use?

There's tons of guys around here, find some who's style you like, and imitate them it's the easiest way to learn this stuff without suffering huge failures like some of us trail blazers.

Yea I'll switch to hps for flower I have seen bulbs people say can run the whole grow but my spectrum rating is 6500 on my mh so idk how well that would work for flower being such a blue spectrum. How are the leds with yield people run them the whole grow I assume?

I used to do a really similar thing with MH and HPS.

To answer your question about LEDs, I have found that only the most stubborn and ignorant of the old school growers is still talking crap about LEDs. The newest generation of LED tech is simply outstanding and nothing will touch it (until we move to lasers and see another 80% jump in efficiency). (If anyone wants to buy lasergro.com let me know, it's a little ahead of it's time okay? lol)

Thanks for the led info I'll have to look more into it and I haven't heard about the lazers I'll have to go see that YouTube on it sounds interesting they already have those available? Hey man no laser grow lights are not available but they are patented. The tech is too expensive, I was looking at starting a company to build them a few years ago.

My space is rather limited....stealth cabinet, 54" long X 16"wide X 34" high (26" of grow space). I run 3 LEDs in that space 100X3w. 2 are populargrow and one is old version mars.
