Harvest & Curing Help needed - Bugs in harvested bud

I recently chopped two plants I had outdoors. One was clean but the other one was just one huge cola due to a broken stem in early stages. This cola looked great, big, dense, and fat. No signs of mould. I'll post pics...

Anyways, it's full of bugs.I hung it for a day. Then rough trimmed. Threw out all the trimmings cuz of the bugs.

The fuckers are still there. Maybe 5 days after chopping the plant. Pretty sure they're gnats. Don't seem to be doing any damage to the bud. Just a lot of dead bugs. Some alive.

Do I wash them? Seems like a weird concept, soaking them.

Any ideas??

Always bugs in outdoor... if your past the point of what you'd deem smokable, hash or concentrates are the direction to take.

It wouldn't hurt to wash them. Many people who grow outdoors wash their harvests.. If you plan on using any of the buds for any reason, you'll want/need to get the bugs off one-way or another.

Ya, was thinking of making rosin with it but don't like the idea of lil legs in my dabs.

I think I'll wash them. I always thought that once a bud was soaking wet it was garbage...

It rains outdoors. Some places much more than others. Plants get drenched.. Trichomes aren't water soluable. Your buds are mostly water weight anyway.. Thus, having to let them "dry"..

You can search "washing buds at harvest" on youtube or google to get an idea of how to do it properly and what to add to the water.. Im not sure how it works 5 days after chop, but I know people who wash at harvest then again during cure. There is definitely a proccess to it that you'll want to follow.

Water curing is a thing, used to do it back in the day when loud weed could get you noticed... and not in a good way. So rinsing would be fine.
