I just got done building a nice size box to put some plants in. the floor space is about 4 1/2 feet by 2 1/2 feet. I got about 5 foot of hight about 4 probable after I put the light and fan and filter in. what im wandering is how many plants can I get in there without sacrificing my yield. I like the himilian blue diesels and mi5s and onyxs and really just any thing that grows under 2 foot and easyier to take care of. this is my first serious grow and want to get it right the first time. im planning on using a high output t5 system with cfl side lighting the t5 system is 4 foot long and about 2 foot wide so it will cover the floor space really nicely I just need to order the light the fan and filter and seeds and im good to go I got it all wired up with an outlet inside the box and a light switch in there that will allow me to turn off half the receptcal so I can leave my fans on and turn my lights on and off

Hey slammed, you should be able to get 8 in there if you go with 1 gallon containers. I don't know about the mi5 or onyx but the hbd will grow to about 18" in a 1 gallon container and the minimal side branching will stay over the container. That will be a nice harvest. I grew 4 and got about 35 grams dried each off of them. The only warning I would give you is keep the air circulating and the RH down. With that many plants and that much soil in the small space you are asking for boytris.

Best of luck and welcome to AFN.

sweet thanks for the quick reply what is rh is that like ph and is boytris
a type of myte

No, RH is relative humidity. During the first two months it isn't that big of a deal. 70% is ok. When it starts to flower you want to keep it under 50%, preferably closer to 40. Bytris is bud rot, it is a fungus that occurs on the buds and will devastate your grow in days. It is most common with high humidity during flowering and especially with new growers. I notice most people see it when the plant is deficient, you will see some yellowing of the leaves normally towards the top of your largest cola. If you squeeze the cola with your fingers slightly you will notice it is squishy. It will eat the entire bud in no time at all if you don't keep an eye out for it and spreads like wildfire in a humid environment. Some plants are more susceptible than others but I did have some with a HB grow one time. Normally, the more dense the buds, the greater chances of it striking.

is there any way to controll the humidity like a humidifier. and if I did use a humidifier could I set it at a certain percentage of humidity and keep it at that. I totally did not even think about that we have lot of humidity here .

Yes, a dehumidifier but they add heat to a small space. An A/C will do it as well but not as efficient. When I grew in a tent I piped an A/C in one side and a dehumidifier in the other so I got the dry air but the A/C overcame the heat of the dehumidifier. I will see if I can get you a picture, I think I have some saved on my laptop.

So, a portable A/C on one side and the dehumidifier on the other. Both piped in with 6" duct.
