Hey afn I need some advice I don't want to chop any of my ladies down

My current set up is a 5x5x7 apollo grow tent cheap but it works
currently running 1 600 watt mh bulb
I am using a hurricane 6 inch fan (fantastic budget fan)
and a ventech carbon filter that came originally as a kit with my ventech fan

About 1 week ago I fed my plants some fish emulsion and we all know how bad that stuff stinks and I noticed that even outside my tent it smelled so I went and took a sniff if the air coming out of my ducting and BAM in the face with fish

So now at day 29 of my lemon haze and dinafem blue amnesia xxl grow and seeing some hairs and getting some smells in the tent I'm kinda in panic mode that my carbon filter isn't working

I was going to upgrade to a phresh filter and get a couple ona mister cans to out around (or just get the liquid and a spray bottle and spray like crazy 2 or 3 times a day as well as an ona block to put in my exhausted ducting to blow nice fresh air throughout the basement

What I'm wondering is should the filter be higher rated than the fan I think my fan is at 450 cfm so I was going to get the 6x24 550 cfm filter if my understanding is right that's how that works

Also are there any other products that would be helpful?

Thanks guys for any advice chuck

You know it's crazy because I use an ounce of fish emulsion every time I make a tea, and even this weekend when I bubbled it for 24 hours in a closet I opened the door to a nice ocean smell. Are you using a lot? Or maybe it's just some potent stuff. I use SaferGro Aqua Power for what it's worth. My primary calculus in choosing it was that it's OMRI certified, other than that it was roulette. :fire: I can't tell from that post how big the space is immediately outside your grow space but if it's not too big one of those wall plug ozone generators should knock it out, and not mask it but actually knock it out. Ona is supposed to neutralize odors as well, I don't know about the cans but I've used the blocks before with success in late flower, but it only provided two weeks or so of neutral smells after which the dank smell took back over. Good luck whichever way you go.

Thanks brother

I have a 5x5x7 tent in my 11x13 bed room and then there is the basement lol

As for fish emulsion I'm using the alaska brand but the bottle had a Crack in it that I didn't notice at the store so I am thinking that didn't help I now have the fish in a milk jug

I have my tent in a walk in closet with a full door which is then in my bedroom and I've been getting by with a carbon filter in my tent, and when it gets really bad I run an ozone generator on a timer in my bedroom and put a plugin air freshener in the hallway outside my bedroom.

That's what I was going to do with the ona mister things lol put one in my bath room since that's where I mix my nutes

How much are the all ozone things do yiu have a link to a good one

The one I use for my room is THIS. It doesn't look like much, but I've used it to clear the smell from a room nearly three times the size of your bedroom. It won't clear out a basement though which is why I asked for the dimensions immediately outside your grow space. I have mine setup to run for 30 minutes every 2 hours, that's enough to clear the smell in my space without having ppm counts in an unhealthy range. Ozone isn't really good stuff to have around in excess but it works by giving up its third oxygen molecule to the contaminants(odors, virii, bacteria, etc.) which neutralizes them and leaves just regular oxygen. I say that to say as long as you're using only as much as it takes to cure the smell you'll be in perfectly safe ranges, if you start to smell a bleachy smell the ranges are probably not healthy and you should dial it back. It's not going to kill you or anything but an abundance of caution keeps us healthy. :goodluck:

Awesome thanks a lot brother I have some business that I got lined up so should be getting about 250 bucks this week I'm thinking that and a carbon filter will be on my short list

One thing I was thinking is taking my exhaust duct back into my tent. Has anyone that you know of done this my only worry then is that I'll be at a neutral or slightly positive air pressure in the tent however a smaller carbon filter and fan would be cheaper and I could use it to pull air out to Induce a negative air pressure in the tent hmm :/ yeah I think alot lol

So that's the debate

Recirculation back into the tent
Recirculate back into the tent with a smaller fan and better filter drawing a smaller amount of air out

Just upgrade my current filter.

Hmm choices choices

And while I'll most likely get that ozone generator what would be the thought on useing a ona mister thing right outside my bedroom door would that help or hurt? I got enough beans to give me a few grows so I'm looking to build in some hard core odor control as I am unsure how much 2 dinafem blue amnesia and 2 emerald triangle lemon haze plants are going to give me if they give me anything at all

Really looking for a strain that's low odor and could help with my adhd but won't out me to sleep. Might have a hook up on a retail job and we'll I'm not the most people person ever and I get distracted really easy lol any advice on a strain for helping me with that?

Alright so I just had a ciggy in my tent (yes I know that doesn't help a carbon filter but it's -14 outside lol) anyways I Recirculated my duct back into my grow room and when I came out no smell in my bed room awesome!!! However then heat becomes an issue so since normally I have some ducting running into my tent at the bottom and the negative pressure draws air from my window in that's not the case now I do have a vent port up high right by my window so I'm thinking if I run a 4 inch small booster fan (since I won't have the negative pressure to draw) pushing air in and had the doling duct about 3 feet hanging down since cold air sinks this should help maybe.

Am I making sense? Lol what do you guys think?
