Lighting Help on lighting please

Hi, i would like to move to either led or cob lights. I have an 8 x 4 tent and i want to use half and half, so start one grow on one side then a month later start another on the other side. I would like to scrog or lst, not sure whether to do 2 or 4 plants on each side to get the best yeild?
My main question is what size light would i need? Ive heard really good things about cob lights?

Greetings Mat1979. I am a LED panel user that has move over to the white light AutoCob. I run 4 AutoCobs that are individually adjustable for each plant in my 3 x 4 x 7 cab. I can move in on a single plant or back off (not all my plants start at the same time) this is a feature I love. Many knowledgeable folks here on cob building. Check out CobShop.net and give a shout to @BigSm0. His knowledge here is not surpassed. Maybe equaled by some here though. If you are a school product of the 70's we may have something in common.

DIY or cobshop.net DIY is great if you have the time and are willing to put in some work. Cobshop prebuilt is more but they are compete and there is no hassle. Lots of success either way.

Like everyone here is telling you COB's are the best and perhaps the most cost effecient solution.

One thing I was thinking when you mentioned how you were going to apportion your tent. Half had half is good but I think you could get better use of your space by using about 80% in production and spawning out the next batch in the 20% space. The first 25 days you see little more than the footprint of the container for growth. That means that you are filling and rotating 40% of the tent every 20-35 days. The other method will give you 50% every 25-50 days. And if you are growing a mix of genetics you can just shift plants down out of the nursery as space permits.

That makes perfect sense, i will more than likely take that approach. If i get these cobs though they will be in the main room. Which leaves me with a CFL to veg which is ok but not as good as cobs. I can't afford cobs for both
