help to solve problem

I don’t know if this helps but I took out hand full of soil (as plants don’t need watering ) put water through it to get a small run off I got bk a 6.43 from adding 7.00 to soil don’t know how effective this is its just getting worse and I don’t know what to do to correct anything do I add 7 then next water to take ph bk up then to 6.5ish where I want ??
As I’m adding in 6.5 every time think it is acidic tbh had this problem at start when I first started checking the run off but it went away after good watering

hey I posted yesterday with yellowing plans 6and half weeeks old I tested my soil and have ph problems it’s acidic, I’m a noob but doing research to try and solve this I’ve basically came across people saying flush the soil with ph 6.5 water but before I go ahead and do this I want to make sure this is correct ? also the soil is still abit damp from last water ,so should I go ahead or wait until it dries out before I do ?

Sorry for all the noob questions I try reaching before I ask but soo many different opinions online it’s hard to filter through the crap lol

Really it depends on how proggressive the acidic measurement is, and how bad the symptoms are. We try to recomend a full flush only after all other measures are taken. It washes out all the nutes too! Sometimes a flush leads you down a bad path.

What was your pH measurement? and what kind of meter do you use? and what kind of growing medium do you have?

If your using a really hot soil like foxfarm or mephisto than a flush would not be a bad idea. If you are using promix, or some other basic soil than I recommend adding dolomite lime as a topdressing, and water as usual.

One thing I should add, tons of people believe the nute manufacturers when they say no pH adjustment necessary. That is a mistake. They don't know your environment or what you are adding to it, or even what kind of medium you use. It is not even close to possible for them cover that guarantee because every single atom added to that soil makes a pH change however small. All they can guarantee is that in a test environment, it did what they wanted it to do.

basically last time I watered my ph was coming out as late 5's to 6 I'm watering to run off in plant magic soil and testing with a ph pen I always water with a combination of calmag, seaweed and samurai terrabloom (grow before) using up and down to get to ph 6.5 they were fine until I switched from grow to bloom iv included some pics from a couple of days ago, they are a little bit worse now I just need advice on how to get the soil up to 6.5 iv read online Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.
i.e if my runoff ph is 5.8 - 0.7 (as I'm adding 6.5) my soil was 5.1

so next time I water and test my run off and its low do I then use this equation and water straight away with the added ph I need or do I add something to the soil like lime?

Ok with those pics and knowlege, I recomend adding lime, and getting a foliar spray, Optic Foliar is the best. But most liquid nutes have a foliar mix on the label. That will absorb into the leaves and giver an immediate source of nutrition. Then I would add some sort of micronutes and dolomite lime and water it in. Test daily for two or three days before liming again if necessary.

If there is better advice, eithe Namvet or Waira will let us know soon.

Thanks buddy you’re a star I’ve been stressing for days

This may be wrong but I’m sure I read somebody spray seaweed on plants leaves as quick fix to re invigorate them .

Would this work for me till my foliar spray gets here Thursday?

...was that soil from the bag? If so, it's not relevant now this far into the grow, too many other pH influencing factors once in-pot! Still, it does tell you the soil is acidifying,...
What nutes are these? bloom nutes with those NPK #'s is weird, too much N, not enough P,...
yeah, you can pH adjust your inputs to 6.8-ish, to help raise things up some,... may take a few applications along with more P,... I'd say you should try a different bloom nute too, something with large P-K numbers, higher than the N value,...
