Hi everyone!

I'm kind of a newbie at growing, so I hope this isn't a stupid question.

I can only grow one or two plants at a time. Also, I have the MOST basic set up (because I don't have room and can't afford anything else)----plain soil in a pot with a 100W CF bulb over it.

This particular plant (I can't remember what the strain is!) has flowered and has been flowering for quite a while now. Some of the pistils have turned red/orange---but a lot of the pistils still remain white!

Is this normal? Do some strains look like that? Because, I can't imagine this plant needs to continue to grow any longer---it has been flowering for weeks! I don't want to harvest it if it truly isn't done maturing. But, I also don't want to let it keep going if this is as mature as it's gonna get.

I'm sure it would be more helpful to diagnose if you knew what strain this is and when it started flowering---unfortunately, I have memory problems and I just don't know that information.

I have included pictures, if that helps.

So, does anyone know if I can go ahead and harvest this plant???

Thanks for any help, in advance!
Sivaji

EL MICROSCOPE! :Sharing One:

You get a 60-100x microscope and look at the trichomes. They should turn from a clear, to a milky cloudy. How cloudy? Up to you to find out. But premature weed is racy and speedy and shit. Goodluck! Its the best way to know when ZE plant is ready.

Looks to have 3-4 weeks left to go ... less light will cause a plant to mature slower ... you've done a great job w/ what you have to work w/ ...

Give her plain water for a couple of weeks and then take her down, by then she should be good :Sharing One:

Pal I can only agree with robwars. You have done a fine job with limited resources. At least another week or two. When the leaves go yellow and start to drop and the buds r mostly orange you are there. Read up on drying and curing 'cause you should have a fine harvest.
Good luck nwell done, eP.

How old is your plant? I'm a newbie too (on my 2nd and 3rd auto grows, a week away from harvesting my 2nd). I know from my first auto that it's easy to harvest too soon.

Have you read the "when to harvest" and "autoflower lifecycle" stickies (in this forum and the harvest/cure forum)?

I think you're a week or more from switching to water-only "cleanse" (for 2 weeks).

From my 1st and 2nd grows, it was normal for the older pistils to change color while new (white) pistils emerged. And, that the trics didn't cloud until near the end of life (as described in the "when to harvest" sticky.

Could be strain dependent. Mine is primarily indica.

Hey dude.if yer running CLF's only you will have slower maturing later in flower so be patient bud,it'll pay off.But I think Robowars is spot on man.If you dont have a scope that is.If you can swing a few bucks get yerself a 30-60X scope single lens and that way you can tune your meds.if yer UBER broke dude.run down to CVS n pick up a 5-10 eyeglass or and old persons magnified label reader n take your best guess of the color of the trics in a neutral light.Cloudy is a bit more of a fuzzy uppy high,30% amber is a standard harvest point. But if your loking for a bit O pain relief or just sleep, couchlock Ect. get em a touch more amber.Hoe tat help ya decide the path to take brother.Happy harvesting.

Pistils if I recall right can be havested my look alone at around 30-50% amber Pistils and that a pretty safe bet.Be well dude n keep the Vibe brother.

Happy 4/20 all! Let's get baked!!!
