I am by no means an expert but that seems pretty big to me. If you have the room though, who knows? 7 gallon pots may be the next big thing. IMHO I would find some regular 3. Gallon pots and drop more beans. The main thing is have fun, buy good gear/genetics, don't mess with them to much once they start growing and in 90 days you will have some good smoke.

I was leaning toward the 3gal but they don't stock them. I'm thinking 7gal might be a bit much too.

If you can only get 7s do 7s lol I have a few 5 gallon smart pots coming as the 3 gallons I have don't seem to be big enough I did have to transplant a dinafem blue amnesia xxl from a 3 gallon plastic pot mid flower and the roots were so dense and root bound it wasn't even funny anymore water went straight through her put her in a 7 gallon smart pot I had and she's actually growing more so honestly I'd say 7 gallons is gonna be good to go but 5s should be plenty for most at least I am hoping so lol

I think 3 gallons Is good for shorter smaller strains but 5 to 7 if yiu are looking at larger strains I have 2 dinafem blue amnesia xxl plants and 2 emerald triangle lemon haze and honestly I think 3 gallons is just to dang small the plants aren't as root bound in the smart pots but you can tell there isn't much room for dirt left as I'm watering every day

Ok here's what I'll do. The guy was gonna get me 4 of them. Fairly good price $15.60 each. I'll buy the 4 I'll try 1 with a bubbleicious auto and ill use the other 3 with my outdoor photos once it warms up. If the auto in the tent does good ill put two 7 gal pots in the tent.

What soil and nutes are you going with?

I'm using promix bx mixed with roots 707 and general organics nutes for now I'm thinking about switching to heavy16. I've been growing outdoors for awhile but I recently got my caregiver card so I'm trying to learn all I can.

+1 another vote for herbies auto flowering seeds - all my purchases have arrived ontime and without any issue. stealth packaging is great and the freebie auto flowers are a nice bonus too!
