New Grower Himalaya Blue Diesel

Thanks for all of the helpful suggestions & the interest in my grow. I do closet grows and this photo has outgrown her grow space. Wifey's not happy that this grow's going to go much longer than expected. I have a friend who grows photos and he's going to grow my girl in return for half of the buds. I didn't want to chop her down, that's sacreligious! My friend has alot of space and more powerful equipment than I do, so I'm glad that my girl's going to a good home.

Day 59 from soil ~ These will be the final pics. I'll post of her.

Seriously...If this is himalaya blue diesel, would this indicate some instability in the strain,, or is an occasional photo not unusual?

It's fem. hbd, I'm sure of it.

You're sure that it's the seed that came in the pack labeled "fem. hbd" ;-) Mistakes happen, I'd contact the breeder and alert him to this thread. I would not re-attempt using the seeds from that pack as there may have been a mix up and they will all do that to you if that's the case. You could grow them under a 12/12 light schedule from seed and it would behave like an auto, but that's not the best for potency or yield, by any means.

I'm sure that it's a fem. hbd because my friend whom I just gave the plant to recognized it as being a hbd. He's the one who suggested I grow this strain b/c he's grown it before (as a pheno). I showed him the plant about 10 days ago and he thought it wasn't a pheno, which is why I posted on this thread that something's probably wrong and I wanted other opinions.

He thinks he'll get 450 g/1 pound dry when it's finished and will be cloning it.

Also, look at the pics. of her at 20 days & at 30 days in the first post I made to start this thread. Those leaves are hbd leaves.

Well, not to say you or your friend are wrong, but HBD by Short Stuff doesn't exist in a non-autoflowering strain, so there's probably some confusion. You said he grew it before as a "pheno;" I'm not sure what that means since a pheno is an abbreviation for phenotype. Is that the word you meant to use? There are lots of Indian/Middle eastern indicas that carry VERY similar leaf traits and do not fully identify themselves as a specific plant until late flowering stages. This could be a broadleaf indica that was mislabeled, it could be an unlucky random seed that expresses non-autoflowering traits...lots of explanations. I grew HBD a while back and it was a great plant, but was a 5% phenotype expression...very rare expression of the genetics according to Stitch the breeder (who posts on here btw). My point was simply to say that there are a lot of reasons you could have ended up here. Since space is a consideration, no reason to risk another mishap by planting another seed. In the event there was a mixup at the seedbank (very common if the seed didn't come in an original breeder pack) then you might not have the same plant, but something similar looking. Where did you get the seeds from? Did it come in the Short Stuff sealed breeder pack or was it in a bag/pouch/etc.?

Yes, I meant auto! :stoneslap:

Yes it's possible there may have been a seed mixup. I purchased the seed from herbie's and not directly from short stuff. I wish much good karma to my friend as he continues the grow. :karma Cloud:

I'll update this thread after the plant has been harvested and buds have been sampled.
