I need help with height and brightness {no markings on dimmer to see brightness percentage} height is now at 24" it was at 20". T get it higher from tops I would have to make shorter cables :nono: and I really dont want to do that. Now the dimmer i am thinking I am at 70% if this is correct there are 10 clicks at full brightness so i am going by 10% each click just assuming I could be wrong. They are in 2-3 weeks in flower 51 days from seed.

The included two V shaped CABLES that HLG attaches to their lights I immediately removed, noticing it severely limited how high I could ratchet up the light.

Then I drove to Home Depot and bought 4 ratcheting cable hooks with cords and attached each one (four in total) to the 4 corner hooks on top of my HLG 550 V2 Rspec.

This gave me back at least a foot (12 inches) in height. Those two V shaped cables most companies slap on their lights severely limit how high u can ratchet up your light.

Keep in mind, for safety sake, you want the top of your HLG light at least 12 inches away from your tent ceiling.

All 4 cable hooks are attached individually to a ratcheting device with its own cord, like this:

Just the advice I needed thank you, I will be doing this soon. Now I need some help with the dimmer and the settings

Also, once I could see the watts coming from the wall, I realized that even fully cranked I was only at about 180 Watts. So I reached out to customer service and they told me that there is a second built-in potentiometer under a black rubber plug. So I turned that all the way up (with screwdriver) and then I could take it close to 290. Not sure if the 650 is constructed the same way, but just an FYI.
