DIY Homemade dwc help needed

hi fellow growers hows things anyway i have a question im thinking about making a DWC system that can handle 4 autos at a time but question is as im a complete noob at this im looking for some advice first thing what size of tub will i need also what size of net pots needed and air stone and pump thanks guys and gals all info is very much appreciated and took on board

Hey Glasgow

The tub will depend on the amount of space you're working with as well as the light. For example if you have a 150 watt hps setup. That will only cover a space of 1.5 by 1.5. So if you buy a tub it can't be bigger than that. The air pump depends on the size of the tub. If the tub is 10 gallons. You would need to purchase an airpump that could handle at least 10 gallons but its recommended you purchase one that could handle more.

Also when it comes to DWC, make sure your container is light proof.
pH is very important as well as water temps

hey glasgow. Carlos is right ,all depends on how much room you have .

25 ltr or 5 gal buckets/tubs is the standard for big autos ,( i have 2 18 ltr tubs) & would say at least 15 ltr min .Net pots can be any size but big enough for a cube & some clay pebbles... A 60 ltr per min pump does 2 buckets very nicely but could do 4 ok ..... ceramic defusers are the best & beat air stones ,or rubber ones like i have are good but air stones are ok too(the more micro bubbles the better & ceramic DEFUSERS do this best). & yea like carlos said .... the res temps ... clad the tub ect with insulation as best you can & have pump outside tent drawing cool fresh air

i also making at the moment 4 autos in DWC, i start ub one tub for akk 4 of them, and i hope to transfer to 4 separate bucket in RDWC.

each of the buckets will be 16 liter, with 12 liter water in it. i can do it coz i get control bucket, so water level will be alweys the same and never run dry.

if you are from scotland, and winter is coming now, res temp wont be an issue. but, as you have been adviced already, there should be NO light. i suggest cover the buckets with aluminium tape.

you should cakculate thet, in DWC, they can easy get more then 1 meter high and 80 cm wide, depands on strain.

i hope to grow the 4 of them in 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 tent. each one will have to fit in 60 x 60 cm.
