Ok just realised my yellowing necrosis ridden leaves are down to loads of fungas gnats. I just got some sharp sand to lay on top of soil but don't fancy using it really.

Got the yellow strips and fly strips etc. Im trying to source hydrogen peroxide as it kills larvae but in the UK it's not so easy to find.

Is there anything else that people do to kill the larvae? Even something homemade? Catching adult flies isn't the problem, I have enough for a gnat pie!

Thanks

And I moved to this site cuz I thought it was more active than others lmao. Can't get hold of any hydrogen peroxide so but stumped on what to do. All I know is it's affecting them badly and tbh I feel like chopping it and starting again even though I am only 3 weeks or so away.

I use sensiZyme from AN. It doesn't kill the gnats but it does break down the dead roots that they feed on... Do you have a local grow shop you can visit? They might have something you can use. I'd love to see some pics of the damage as well. :smokebuds:

I always use the peroxide then 1/4 inch of sand. The sand can be a major pain though. Mosquito dunks will also kill them. You might want to give them a try.

Will take some updated pics soon but most of the leaves that have been affected have fallen off. I am already using Cannazyme which does the same thing. Yes have a local hydro store but they are useless tbh lol. I think sand may be my only option to stop the fuckers getting in or out. Only problem I foresee though is the medium isn't going to dry out very well as they are due a watering today

High!

I use yellow sticker fly trap, around the pots and on the soil.
I put also party cups "yellow color better" filled with water, bit of olive oil, apple vinegar and wash dishes soap bit. They love it and plunge to drowning.
It helps a lot, now am waiting to try my mosquitoes dunk order to come, will treat soil with them before planting...
Hurry cycle 2 weeks, number quick high,
Peace!

Best of luck,...

I went to war with the fungus gnats, last year, lol. I didn't want to use diatomaceous earth, either because it is very messy. I ended up using vermiculite and put a thin layer on top of the soil (making sure to leave no space uncovered). It cured my problem. Don't let them beat you, man!

Ok thanks guys. I only have 6 days left till the 14 day flush so I'm now figuring to give them one last feed as its due, then place a thin layer of sand on top, with yellow sticky pads on top of the sand and leave for Like 6 days till the flush period. The little fuckers shouldn't be able to get in or out hopefully. They have only affected 3 of my plants out the 5 and the yellowing only seems to be affecting the main leaves and not so much the leaves around the buds or lower from the buds. Will post pics 2moz. Thanks
