New Grower How many plants?

.... "you're damn right"

:crying:

Rather than start a duplicate thread, I thought it best to piggyback on this one, with the exact same question.
i.e. How Many Plants?

To optimise a 1.5 x 1.5 grow space ...

Tent size: 150 x 300
Potsize: 30 L
Pot Type: Air-pots
Grow Medium: Plagron Light

Going to 'try' some LST and/or super cropping to open it up.
SCRoG - no.
SoG - no.

Strain: Dutch Passion Think Different is #1 choice unless swayed otherwise
Light: 2 x GroGlo 600W [switchable] ... 1 x RB+P and 1 x P+RB
Cycle: 24/0 for veg ... 20/4 for flowering
Temperature: 25º C ... controlled to +/ 5º C

Those TD's get BIG, more so in a 30 L airpot I assume, and will be heavy to move around, but as you know I'm a noob with limited experience so take this with a grain of salt.........8 plants max or you will come to regret it when you get to the flower stage maneuvers with a watering can.

I swear to Autopot's now, what could be easier, and everything is aerated at all times, water holding tanks and pots whatever kind they may be.........I have a bunch of Airpots from 15 to 30 L, but I have written them off to a probable future of collecting dust somewhere in a corner behind all the other "smart" acquisitions I have made.......

Good to know!
I had planned only 6 plants for the very reasons you have given.
So great to have some confirmation!

So you don't like Air-pots?
What is the main issue you have experienced?

I do like Airpots, and smartpots.....they are excellent.... ermmm except they don't have the "auto" to their name.

Handwatering soon gets tedious, especially when you have to do it slooooowly to avoid side-runoff..... But that's just me.

+1

Used one Airpot on my first grow with the rest being normal pots...never again.
Watering them was torture and you had to do it twice as often.

Maybe if I had more time on my hands I would give them another go.

By creating a nice gradiant from the edges down to the middle on an air pot (with increased drop as grow goes on) I find I can swiftly pour very good quantity of water on my girls. Admittedly they need watering more often and as grow progresses I water every day or other day (which causes security issues), rather than 2-4 with standard. I like to think that's because those roots aren't stifling but they dry quicker due to the excellent air interaction with the soil.

Plus they look like pots from the Future. Or my sex dungeon.

What about one of those "auto" drip systems with digital controller?
Could that be a solution?
