Hello,

I have my 2 girls on 300w right now that is the result of a 600w digital ballast at 50%. I have heard contrasting opinions on how much light they need in veg.I am running them 24/0 due to my cold climate and wondering if I should bump the light up to 75% @ 450w or 100% at 600w. Cost is of course always a concern but if the result are worth it I will pay the extra cost of the 600w. Right now they are around 2-3 weeks and doing really really well and the 50% 300w is about 4" over canopy in a cool tube and passes the hand test no problem.

Suggestions? Ideas?

Well I can’t comment on optimal... but I normally start at 400w then when she starts side branching knock her up to 600w to me the cost is irrelevant I would rather spend an extra 10% for the best results than save 10% and lose quality and yield (advice given on a full 1.2m tent)
