Live Stoner Chat how safe is this site?

My landlady drives me insane with this same paranoia . My response " fuck em " The law enforcement agency's are far to busy to concern themselves with some individual that's probably growing a half a dozen plants in bumfuck Canada .The police in this country already know that there's an underground of growing going on . I know because I asked them . Know your law when it comes to growing and keep yourself below they're radar . Don't try to grow a half an acre in your house and no problems . Here prosecution doesn't start unless you grow more than 7 plants even though it's illegal to grow canna period .If you stop and think about it it's very obvious that seeds are being sold all over the world and openly I might add . What do the authority's think we're doing with them ?? Putting them in a salad . I wouldn't worry about this site I'm sure the management here has everything under control and if not and the law want's to throw my sorry 75 year old ass in jail let's have at it , been there done that . :dance2:

“In a closed society where everybody’s guilty, the only crime is getting caught." (from Medi)
I'm thinkin like this at the moment

And. They can throw my almost old ass (1951) in jail with 1939bear. (We'll fart in their general direction)

Firstly, I recommend that anyone using a site like this take precautions to protect themselves. There is never a guarantee of privacy on the web!!

I thought it might help if I lay out my own strategy here..

1. USE TOR! TOR is the only real way to browse anonymously. VPNs are notorious for caving at the first sign of pressure. There are even plenty of cases where VPNs that supposedly don't keep your info have caved and provided info to law enforcement. With TOR, your info and data are passed through multiple computers with encryption. Basically, the first node it passes through, knows who you are, but not what you are sending, or where it is going, and the last node knows what is being sent, and where it is going, but doesn't know who sent it. In order for someone to be compromised, the "hunter" would have to control all of the nodes that the data passed through, and that is pretty much impossible.

2. REMOVE EXIF DATA FROM YOUR PICTURES!! Pictures contain data about you embedded in the file. Turning off your GPS isn't enough. I use a program called Batch Purifier. This program strips out all of the identifying information from image files.

I take images with my phone, with the GPS turned off, save them to a folder on my computer, and then use batch purifier to strip the EXIF data out, and place it in a separate folder.

Be safe!!

Here is where you can get TOR: https://www.torproject.org/

And here is Batch Purifier: http://www.digitalconfidence.com/downloads.html

Do I get some rep for that??!!?!? :Gold: A Badge, perhaps??!?!? lol

Okay I know I am going to get a few virtual bottles thrown at me, but why not try getting a medical marijuana card if it is available in your area? Now I know it won't protect you if you don't follow the rules, but for folks who only want to grow for themselve, it is a viable path. Yes I know you are simply letting law enforcement know you grow, but the truth is they probably already do and by playing within the rules, you at least may have legal recourse otherwise not afforded to you. No matter what happens in the future, we the people are going to have to persuade our governments the war on drugs is actually a war on citizens and has no place in a civilized society. We need to be proactive, be good role models in our communities, follow legislation and testify in support of positive bills and decry bull#$@& legislation. In short this isour baby and we need to take care of it.:Smoke no Evil:

Because it isn't available in our areas.

As for Corgy's comment, I fundamentally disagree with the first article posted. It is a misunderstanding of the available data. the study that was done showed that it was possible to identify a percentage of users, given the right conditions, but it also showed that because of the margin of error, which was approximately 20%, the whole thing was just too unreliable. In other words, you would end up with a list of 1,000,000 users, but 200,000 of them would be false positives, and there is no way to know WHICH 200,000 of them were the mistakes. Perhaps worth the time if you were trying to prevent a terrorist attack, but certainly not to find a closet grow, or a small-time criminal.

I live in Georgia. Possession of under an ounce can be up to one year in jail. Over a ounce is a felony. Paraphernalia is a misdemeanor which means a fine and possible jail time. Plus your drivers license is suspended automatically if convicted of a drug charge. Scary stuff.
I'm hoping for a herd immunity, i.e so many fish present that the shark only gets a small percentage. Playing the odds.

Wherever we live, I know we all share a dream of a world without cannoppression.
