Hey guys. I was wondering how do check the ph in my soil? I use fox farms ocen forest soil. In a few weeks I will be starting my next grow from seed. I use foX farms nutrients . My last grow went bad. Although I was able to save them I want my next grow to go good.

you can get soil readers that you poke in the soil there about 10a

much love Krazy :coffee2:

There are basically two ways. One is with a good soil probe like the Control Wizard Accurate 8. It's the only one I trust. Don't waste any money on those $20 ones you see in the big box stores. They are junk and notoriously inaccurate.

The second way is to measure your run off. Before you plant any seeds, fill a pot some of the FFOF and run enough water pHed to 6.5 so that some runs out the bottom of the pot. Capture and test that run off. If your run off comes back at say 6.0, subtract that from the 6.5 that you fed. The difference would be .5. Subtract that from your run off number to find your soil pH. In this case, it would be 5.5. 6.5 minus 6.0 = .5. 6.0 - .5 = 5.5. If the run off pH is higher than the 6.5 that you fed, then do the same calculations only add the difference instead of subtracting it. Run off readings aren't as accurate as a soil probe but close enough to get a general idea of where your soil is.

My father would tell me: "In doubt, use Worm Castlins to bring soil's PH it back to a more neuter value" It only helps, never screws you up.

I want to build a worm farm real bad, so I don't ever suffer with ph...

I just use a PH/Moisture reader from B&Q, hasn't failed me yet, and cheap!
