My plants have 3 weeks under their belts. They're in Fox Farm soil so they've had nutrients present. I have their trio of nutes here but so far have only used some Big Bloom. Being careful not to feed them if they don't need it, does it make sense to wait till there are signs of deficiency before using some of their vegging fertilizer? Harm done?

It's time (has been time for around a week) to break out the Grow Big.
Since you have the whole trio, you can generally follow the Fox Farms feeding schedule from their website (just at .25 of recommendation to start and moving up to .5 as the plant indicates it can take it)

yeah i would be feeding veg nutes just now bro. i would recommend not to feed them any of the bloom nutrients at this stage

Good memory. I'm on the OF/HF plan. I thought they had enough nutrition for 3-4 weeks. The schedule as you know says to start the Grow Big week 2. I'd think that would be more fitting if you started them in Promix/Sunshine type media or for photoperiod strains. You start them at 2 weeks?

No, nothing bloomy. But the guidance from the less is more contingency pertaining nutes and water has made an impression. I'm on the fence.

The OF is, as you know now, hotter than the HF and I've been instructed that HF has 2 weeks worth of nutes or thereabouts...I think it's safe to assume that OF contains more initial coverage. None-the-less, I think it's time, at three weeks, to dip the toe in the veg. nute pool. Before you know it, it will be pre-flowering, then flowering (wk 4-5?) and will be time to swap over. Get your punches in while you can. Maybe start off at even less than 1/4 strength...then just see what the plant is telling you.

I gave mine a shot of bloom at the 1st sign of flowering then I read on here you don't want to do that. Obviously I'm new to AF's so I was doing what I always do with photos. Shes looks good, not lacking anything, mines also in OF with a mix of seedling starter mix and some cheap ass dirt I got at walmart for $2. I'll top dress with 10-1-1 bat guano then water with 1/2 strength EJ grow in a few days. Who knows I'll probably kill it, however, I've used Earth Juice for years and NEVER burned a plant. Best nutes anywhere imo. Even the guy at the hydro shop says no one buys all that humbolt crap or the other big named nute. He said it's hard to keep EJ on the shelves. And I've never understood people saying OF is "hot".....I've been using it for YEARS and NEVER had any issues burning seedlings or nothing. Pop a germ seed in and in a day or 2 she's growing great. Some people can't even grow cucumbers, that's what the problem is.

Part of the confusion may be the names of the Fox Farms Trio...Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tiger Bloom...
Grow Big and A LOT of Big Bloom are called for on the Fox Farms schedule during vegetation (throughout the entire grow). But the NPK on Big Bloom is virtually non-existent (.01 - .3 - .7)
So I'm not sure Big Bloom is to be considered a "Bloom Nute" even though it has that in the name.
