Here's what I have been doing.
I make the hash, then use the leftovers to make
cannabutter. I got lucky this time, the cannabutter
is really good. I need to get some more indica
in the hash to get it the way I like it.
Pot is sticky, so I put it in the freezer to try and get less
to stick to the blender. Think I need to freeze the blender, too.
I have not been grinding the stuff fine, but I think I will try that next time.
That should expose more good stuff.
Let the dry ice really freeze that pot for a min.
The frozen plant fibers will break, releasing more good stuff.
Because I only have the one bag, it takes a lot of stirring and shaking.
I am vaguely thinking about getting a second back, perhaps a 110.
Make sure the surface you are using is clean. You wouldn't want pet hair and
such in your hash. Not that I know this from experience...
I have a MFLB, and having just a little plant material in the hash means
you won't have problems. I do find using 1/4 trench to be more efficient.
I also leave it as a powder for the same reason.
When you're done, put the pot in a crockpot and cover it with hot water and
let it simmer for an hour. Then add coconut oil, and then use a hand blender
to get the last bits out.
Then all you do is let it fester for a while. Some people go an hour, others let it go
for a day or two. I let it go for a few hours and call that good.
Put it in the fridge and let the oil come to the top and harden. Be patient
with this step.
Take the oil off, put in some hot water and stir. Washing removes some of the green stuff.
I did it 3 or 4 times.
When the water doesn't get all funky, you are done.
I use small ice cube trays. Silicon chile pepper shaped ice cube tray, but
anything will do.
I got 50 cubes, and this batch is really nice.
I don't like a really strong edible. So this gets me moderately stoned, and I just
take a couple hits of hash to get things really going.
