Hi guys. In probably a fortnight or so my first grow will probably start flowering. What I want to know is how would I make the transition from grow nutrients to bloom nutrients? I'm working with Biobizz Grow, Bloom and Top Max.

Is there a need to flush with plain water before starting with the bloom nutrients?

When they start fully flowering should I gradually start feeding it bloom nutes then slowly build up to full dose or should I just go all out with the full dose? These Think Differents I'm growing seem to be able to withstand anything thrown at them. My plan is not to go easy on it anymore since it really is a tough s.o.b.

Also do I continue to use a little bit of grow with the feeds when in full flower?

Thanks for taking the time to read this guys appreciate it.

Some people like to do a flush in between but that's not something I personally care to do. By the time the plants are ready, around week 5-6 after vertical growth stops, I'm already at 1/2 strength veg nutes. I just make the switch to 1/2 strength bloom nutes. Some do like to do a transition feed in between with equal parts veg and bloom. I've done that and really didn't see any benefit to it. Once you make the switch only use bloom nutrients. No need to add in any of the veg.

Thanks Muddy. I was thinking along the same lines but since I'm a noob I was worried about getting it wrong. Glad you dropped by with an excellent informative answer to ease all my worries. Thanks once again! [emoji106]

I have started using sledgehammer to flush between veg and bloom. It seems to "do no harm" and I have been able to resolve any nute imbalance easier. It's a FF product and is designed to work with their other products that I use. I have not tried to use this as a flush before harvest. It has also been my experience that when someone gives advice different than Muddys', ignore it.

I'll also be using Sledgehammer at the switch this time around...I feel like with these FF Synth nutes, I experienced some salt build-up/pH issues (was also due to not feeding/watering to enough run-off). So a nice slate-cleaning in preparation for bloom nutes at the halfway point this grow....

Thanks, but I certainly don't know it all. I'm always open to learning something new.

I just reciever my acturate 8 soil ph/moisture meter and I think I have learned something. My promix ultimate is about 6.3 when I start but I always seem to have problems about 3 weeks into the grow with growth and ph. I have just checked my soil and found the first 2/3 at 6.5 and the bottom 1/3-1/4 at 5.5-5.0 and very wet. I think that because I have been watering lightly, only 1000ml, with no run-off the salts are in the bottom and until I start watering with more water growth will be stunted. If you add heat or other stress factors all kinds of problems start. I feel really dumb for not seeing this before. My auto mazar is just three weeks and has slowed its' growth, maybe a good watering, 2gals for 5gal pot, I can correct the ph on the bottom of the pots.
